It wouldn't be the rosary then.

Try googling Scriptural Rosary in which after each Hail Mary one says a quote from the Bible about the particular mystery
Many people add other prayers before or after the Rosary
In aByzantine rosary i knew instead of Hail Holy Queen there was"It is fitting and proper to call theeblessed,O Theotokos"

A handful of Lutherans (a *very* small handful, and I'm not one of them) have adopted the practice of praying the Rosary with the following alterations:
1. They use the pre-Trent version of the Hail Mary, which is shorter. It is simply: "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus." (It stops there.)
2. They substitute a different prayer for the Salve Regina.
3. They change the last two glorious mysteries to: (4) The Communion of Saints, and (5) The Heavenly Jerusalem.
I find the changes to the glorious mysteries to be unnecessary, since nothing in the Lutheran confessions denies them. However, the Lutheran confessions *do* criticize the rosary itself on the basis that its repetitiveness degenerates into babbling, so from a Lutheran point of view the whole concept is suspect.

For those who pronounce this a "pagan" practice and screech "it's not in the BIBLE!!!", just pray for them ... they've never prayed a rosary in their lives and have no idea what we're doing when we pray it. They just know what it "looks like" and jump to conclusions from there.
I agree with the answerer above who suggested that, as long as the purpose of saying a rosary (thinking about/meditating on the life of Christ) remains, then there's no reason why you couldn't use different prayers. It's been done before.
For example, the Divine Mercy devotion (either chaplet or novena) is said on ordinary rosary beads, but the prayers are much different.
But the customary prayers of the rosary are there for good reason, too. So one should be careful of dismantling the devotion on a whim.
The links below may give you some additional insight.

there are many different prayers that can be said on the rosary
such as
Chaplet of faith
Chaplet of divine mercy
chaplet of mercy
just to name a few
but to receive the most benefit praying the rosary is the most abundant in blessings
when I first started say a daily rosary I found it difficult to understand how it was done So I just said Our Fathers and Hail Marys
and found even that very rewarding and helpful
as to making up prays ....no offense but .....I doubt any pray we could possible come up with, could compare to the benefits and graces awaiting praying the rosary
here are 15 promises that are guaranteed to all who pray the Rosary
http://www.ourladyswarriors.org/prayer/15promise.htm
I testify these promises to be truthful and abundant
God Bless You

I say the Rosary daily and feel that I benefit greatly because it helps keep me grounded spiritually.
I believe the greatest benefit of the Rosary is as a help to meditate. I often say it on the bus in the morning but it is nicer to say it in a quiet place without interruption.
I certainly don't see why you couldn't use your own prayers or mysteries. I think, though, that the consistent prayers of the Rosary help me organize my thoughts.
Good Luck. I hope you find great peace in your endeavor.

The mysteries of the Rosary were set up so that you reviewed the life of Christ every three times you say it. While you are reciting the Hail Mary, the Our Father, and the Gloria, you are supposed to be meditating on the mysteries. So I guess if you wanted to pick other prayers to say while thinking about the life of Christ, it would be OK.

hi Sara definite, I surely have a eco-friendly crystal rosary. it truly is amazingly proper. i'm no longer a Catholic, yet I had Catholic coaching and upbringing in my childhood and performance consistently kept my rosary from lately.. i do no longer use it now because the sorts of prayers and meditation I do, do no longer require wanting to save count number. I surely have observed Buddhist teachings yet have not in any respect used a mala. i did not comprehend what it changed into and had to look it up basically now. :) So I surely have realized something new out of your question. Thankyou. Namaste

Why do you want a rosary in the first place?
That has nothing to do with the Gospel that Jesus taught. These things are just the add-ons of the Catholic Church to keep people submissive.
The true message of the LORD God is in the Bible which you are probably not encouraged to read. There are no rosaries there.
