Is it possible that only 1 pair of custom orthotic shoe insoles cost as much as $450 from an Ontario specialist. I think I've been ripped off. Before getting a prescription to get these, I had inquired to my co-workers. All of them told me that specialists will generally order you 2 pairs. 1 pair for workboots and 1 pair for casual wear. They all told me that the $450 that my insuarance covers pays for both pairs in a package. I went to see a doctor with the name of a specialist that my co-workers had recomended me to deal with. I did not see my regular family doctor for getting the prescription as there is a walk-in clinic I access here from time. In there, I mentioned the specialist someone had told me about but the doctor refused to refer me to anyone but the specialist that is in the same buildin as where both operate. He told me that I was to get two pairs as a prescription. Once upstairs, the specialist tells the same. 1 week later I get one pair. Everyone now denies it was for 2

I do not think that you can state the cost of one pair, as we are all different. Orthotic insoles are made for the individual, so depending on what problems were located, for example would a fallen arch be cheaper than say a inward roll of four degrees, both need orthotic insoles for problems but correcting the problem would in my opinion be more expensive for the four degree inward rolling of the feet, putting out ankle, knee, hip and spine alignment then fallen arches.
