Okay, so my friend and I are going to the mall for my birthday.
She's thirteen, and I'm fourteen.
I talked to her about stopping at Spencer's to get a vibrator for both of us, and she's up for it, except we don't know if they check the age there.
I've heard some people say they do, I've heard some say they don't. I don't know, so that's why I'm asking.

I've heard that since they sell them as "massagers" and "gag gifts" that you can buy them any age...

Oh, and no smart remarks such as: "Oh, you're too young to be buying this, etc." At least I'm not going out and having sex.

Serious answers only please!

We're not sharing it.

No. They do not check I.D.s.

My question to you is: Are you actually considering "sharing" a vibrator with someone?

Yes, they'll ask for IDs- I've even been kicked out of the sex toy area for looking under 18. If you really want something, try checking a department store for small back massagers.

Also, I'm not sure if you meant you'd be sharing the toy or if you meant getting one for each of you, but just in case, it's not a good idea to share toys. It can lead to the spread of infections and nasty bacteria.

Every time I've been there they've never asked for my age (I was 14 last I've bought something there), but I guess it would be different from town to town. But the worst they can do is say your to young (Which I doubt) So I'd say go for it.

my friend used to work there and yeah they check id's on anything that is "sex" related or racy. Its required by law that you have to be 18 to buy any kind of sex toy or possible sex toy. you may get lucky and they won't check but probably not. if you look like you are 13 or 14 they will id you just to listen to your excuse why you dont have it with you...then kick you out. (thats what my friend used to do)

When I have bought stuff there, I haven't had a problem. But that can vary store to store. Worst case scenario they: you can't buy one. Find someone old enough who could buy one for you. If your parents are open with you about sexuality, maybe ask them. But if they aren't, don't make any mention of it.

Technically no they should not ask for ID. if you are paying with a Credit card or Check they can and should (especially with the check).

however it should not be necessary to show it.

best way to avoid getting carded (except for cigs and booze) is pay cash.

it depends on what you purchase in the store those i think they might ask for your age and i don't think saying its for your mom will work. you need to be a certain age to buy saying its for some one older still won't get you old enough to buy it.
