I have an almost 2 year old labradoodle and I would say she is very energetic. We just started to foster another dog and Addie (my dog) will not stop trying to play with our foster (Mojo.) She is constantly trying to play, tug on his ears and french kiss him (she gets her entire tongue in his mouth- yuck!) He sometimes growls to tell her to quit- but she backs up for only a second and then goes back to bothering him again. It is tiring to watch- I feel like a babysitter! Does anyone have any ideas of how to train her to just chill out?

Your foster will tell her what is too much and she, being curious and playful, will learn. It's really the only way. She will have to learn for herself what is too far. We have a 10 yr old lab and he would play with my German shorthair, but when he was tired enough was enough and he told my pup when he was done playing and my pup learned quick.

Don't worry too much, the other dog will tell her when to quit and she will. if you still feel the need to keep her away from him use a squirt bottle when they get to close together. Or make a loud noise when she crosses the line. works every time.

Well I hope you are intervening and separating them! Don't let her become a nuisance to your foster dog. Give the poor guy a break.

Try to use a spray bottle with water on stream shot to the face and use a correction word like leave it .it works most of the time to teach your dog when it is not time to play or bark it can be a good tool.
