I have a bag of chopped pecans about a cup or so in the freezer...couldn't tell you how long they been there, at least 2 years. Do they go old or get bad? Loose their taste? I haven't tried one since they are frozen, but thought I could use them in a recipie if they are still good. Cheaper than buying if I've got them...thanks in advance!

Frozen Pecans thawed out = wet dish rag. But then that is just my opinion and taste buds.

Throw away frozen pecans (1 year) or can you still use them in a recipe?

Sure they go bad and lose their taste, but worse for you is they'll taste freezer burnt. Get rid of them and buy new.

Those pooh-poohing your keeping of them in the freezer are wrong wrong wrong about them going mushy. I keep mine in the freezer, but not for longer than 6 months.
