I have a TV antenna from radio shack. The only channel it gets is channel 7. I don't need every channel in the universe, but a fer more would be nice. I've moved around the antennae, but nothing but channel 7. I do have 4 and 2 but they are not good enough quality- they only come out grainy with loud unwanted noise.

Most antennas have some 'direction'. Type your address into AntennaWeb and see where the broadcast antennas are in your area.

It will also tell you if you can get away with an indoor antenna or if you need an outdoor unit. (You may be too far away for indoor).

You don't say how far you live from the TV stations 2 and 4. If you live in a metro area, your "rabbit ear" antenna should be capable of receiving all local broadcasts. So I'm guessing you live further out in the suburbs.

Is the antenna you bought at Radio Shack just plain "rabbit ears", or is it an AMPLIFIED antenna? An amplified antenna will require some sort of power to provide the necessary signal boost. If yours does not have this feature, you should bring the antenna back and exchange\upgrade to one that DOES have amplification. This may improve your reception of channels 2 and 4.

As another writer wrote, be aware that in a little over a year, all analog over-the-air broadcasts will cease. In order to receive ANYTHING on your current TV, you will need a set-top DIGITAL to ANALOG converter (DAC). Since digital signals do not travel as far as analog signals, the fact that you are already at the fringe of reception for analog means you will likely NOT be able to receive anything other than Ch.7 via digital conversion. It is likely that any antenna you are using now for Ch's 2,4 and 7 may not be suitable for the new digital broadcasts.

What kind of range does the antenna have? If is has a 100 mile range you should be able to get them better. Consider investing in a device that has a directional remote that allows you to turn the antenna without having to go to the roof. They are wonderful.

But keep in mind that analog signals are not going to be around in the next couple of years.
