Women in many christian sects cover their heads in church. It's just that the ones that are familiar to you are the ones that do whatever they feel like and call it "God's Will."
...or, more likely, it's because almost no Christians actually take their religion seriously. For most christians, church is a party, religion is a social acceptance issue, and belief is whatever cliche will get them a sense of approval by the other idiots they surround themselves with.

Nuns are not Christian, they are Catholic. Anywho, Christian women do not wear head covers because it never says in the Bible that they are needed and that a woman's hair is enough.

In the Corinthian culture, a woman who covered her head during worship or when she was in public displayed her submission to authority.
In today's culture, we no longer view a woman's wearing of a head covering as a sign of submission. In most modern societies, scarves and hats are fashion accessories. A woman has the choice to wear a head covering if she views it as a sign of her submission to the authority of her husband. However, it is a personal choice and not something that should be used to judge spirituality. The real issue here is the heart attitude of obedience to God's authority and submission to His established order “as to the LORD” (Ephesians 5:22).

Actually, there are Christian women besides nuns who wear headcoverings. The majority of my female Mennonite friends wear headcoverings, and so do some of my other Christian friends. At my church, sometimes you'll see women wearing chapel veils.

I'm not ENTIRELY sure,
but I know that the Muslim and Jewish women cover themselves out of respect for themselves, and modesty.
I think it's just because the christian religion doesn't have the same...values? No, wrong word... umm beliefs i guess.
Hope I helped =]

Because christians pick and choose what they want to abide by in the bible which does state that women should cover their hair. However as an atheist, I've always wondered why a god would bother to create women with hair if it was going to be covered - why not make them bald and not worry about it? Religion is entirely without logic.

Paul tells us in 1 Cor 11:15-16
15 But long hair is a woman's glory. Long hair is given to her as a covering . 16 Some people may still want to argue about this, but I would add that neither we nor the churches of God have any other practice.

Neither the Old Testament nor New Testament require it, it is simply a form of modesty based on tradition.
