is it cool to stick your fingers in your ears and whistle the "Andy Griffith" theme song really loud until they quiet down?

lmao. No, that isn't a very bright idea. My husband can be quite gabby. I listen "ever so intently" making appropriate noises when he pauses for air, and occassionally adding in a "That's cool!" or "oh how interesting." He's none the wiser, and happier that I'm such an excellent conversationalist!

You might find your relationship more rewarding if you listened and tried to partcipate in the conversation.

Two people who can't even have a civil conversation are on the road to a rocky relationship.

My guess is, you'll wake up one day and wonder where your spouse has gone.

Oh well, you'll have Andy Griffiths for company, I guess.

Cheers :-)

it's cool for us to picture that... but it's not cool for your spouse I'm sure. That said... if you've asked your spouse to be quiet and they still haven't listened, its worth a try. Maybe your spouse will only respond to something childish, when they are acting childish themself!

It's a miracle you're still married.

Maybe your spouse has a real problem, or they're sharing a good story that happened to them, maybe they just want to talk! Either way, your proposed solution is very rude.

My spouse used to do that (only he would sing "La La La La La") You see I said USED to, we are divorced now....very disrespectful, if you don't want to listen to her...get away from her, because marriage is a long time!

No. That makes it worser. Instead, agree to everything your spouse says. That is, if you are arguing.
