i was on maternity leave for six months will i still recieve the same amount for being the head of my household?

Yes, as long as you were the primary means of support during the year.

The personal exemption is the same no matter how you file.

If you are asking about the standard deduction, if you meet the requirements to file as head of household, you get the slightly larger standard deduction for head of household - being on maternity leave for part of the year doesn't affect that.

If you are eligible to file as Head of Household, the standard deduction is fixed amount--it isn't based on income.

If you are also eligible to claim EIC, that will be affected as it is based on earned income.
