My wedding went so well. There are quite a few things I would've done different but the vows were perfect and everyone had fun.
We had our wedding at a local Sheraton. They gave us a lot of extras and discounts since we chose a day that no one ever booked events on (the day before easter). We chose a preacher that had a lot of experience and his wife worked with him on everything. We ordered the flowers on Costco and had family do all of the arrangements and bouquets. The dj was ok but we didn't have much choice since my preferred dj bailed on me one week before the wedding. I hired a student to take pictures and we went to a portrait studios for our mantle pictures. We tried to keep it cheap since we didn't want to be one of those couples with thousands of dollars in debt for our wedding. I linked our pics just in case

Wonderful! Got married in a white gazebo on our church's property. Beautifully decorated. There was room in the gazebo for his parents and mine to sit and have a close view of the ceremony. Other guests were seated around the gazebo. Not a bad seat in the house, as the saying goes.
My husband did so much running around to ensure that everything would go the way we'd planned. It was a perfect, romantic day.
We opted to spend more money on the reception and had it catered by a popular restaurant. Our guests ate very well which made our wedding day memorable for them. Had a bridesmaid pack up extra food in a picnic basket for my husband and me, which we enjoyed the next day at the beach.

Mine was wonderful. A tropical Caribbean theme but a formal evening event as well. 7 pm on Saturday. I had the traditional white fluffy princess ball gown. My bridesmaids were in turquoise formal gowns and carried coral roses. I had 4 groomsmen, 4 bridesmaids, and a flower girl. The sanctuary was brand new and beautiful so we didn't need much decoration. Though my preacher messed up our names and tried to marry my groom to the best man. LOL.
We spent most of the money on the reception. We had tiki torches lighting the entrance way, lots of green lush jungle colors (like palms and ferns). Lime green table clothes for the buffet tables. In a circle, surrounding the dance floor, the guests tables had turquoise tablecloths. Multiple blooming glads for my centerpieces in bright bold colors. My napkins were the color of sand. I had lights on the trees throughout the reception and hibiscus flowers scattered around and tied on the trees. Other flowers I used were birds of paradise and ginger.
We had the beverage center in a separate corner--so that it was easy to get more to drink without having to break in line at the food. And pictures of the Caribbean islands and us in the Caribbean.
The cake was beautiful. 3 tiers. In multiple flavors involving coconut, pineapple, almond and mango.
I'll send you a link. I wanted it to be bright, bold and non-traditional. Above all, a great party with lots of dancing. And I had people there after midnight still dancing and partying.

I got married a beautiful wedding chapel in the Smoky's. It was a private ceremony... just us and our immediate families. It snowed and was amazing. We didn't want the big fancy wedding with tons of guests. However, we didn't want the jeans at city hall either. We had our formal wedding without the stress! We told them what we wanted and they took care of everything... from flowers and the cake to the photos. Plus, it was very inexpensive.
I included the site to our chapel and a link to some of our wedding photos.

we decided to go small and informal, neither of us is religious so we found a beautiful registry office with a lovely ceremony room which used to be an old council chambers, it even had stained glass windows and a beautiful domed ceiling. My dress was a tea length cocktail dress which I had made for me as I just did not suit "traditional" style gowns and they did not suit the informal feel of the day. I carried a pomander of roses and blue feathers. On the day of the wedding my uncle picked me up in his stretch limo and I travelled to collect my husband from his sisters house and we went to the registry office together, our bridesmaid, best man, my younger brother and his girlfriend all came in the car with us. We chose a song by Eels to walk down the aisle (we walked down together) and then after the service we went back to his sisters house for a BBQ garden party reception (their house is beautiful, not a dusty back yard). We had a stack of cupcakes as our wedding cake, it may not be to everyone's taste but it suited us!

The first one? 35 years ago. I was a June Bride.Did the big fancy church wedding/reception thing..my gown made me look like I stepped right out of Gone With The Wind....princess style with a big wide lace & organza skirt, delicate cap sleeves, deep v-neckline accented with lace, and a big lace & organza covered picture hat.In those days I was a size 5 with a 19 inch waist...4 kids took care of that! lol I carried a bouquet of white ,pink, blue, and yellow hothouse roses. My bride's maids wore dresses similar in style to mine in a floral pattern, each a different color (pink, blue, yellow, green) with matching picture hats & parasols( dressy umbrellas)-they wore floral wrist corsages. The flower girl matched my maid of honor (blue). The groom and his best man, ushers wore edwardian style tuxedos and frilly shirts. We rode not in limos but antique cars ( an in-law has connections as he was a collector)
Needless to say the marriage was difficult and ended 11 years ago...
My current marriage was in the gazebo on the grounds of a town hall with the lush colors of fall leaves all about us. We had immediate family there including all four of my kids who stood with me & my guy. (he has no children of his own). he wore a deep gray business suit, soft blue shirt and a blue& garnet red tie. I wore a three piece chiffon suit ( lined chifon pants, sleeveless matcing tank top, and a longsleeved knee length matching over tunic that flowed when I walked) in deep garnet red (his birthstone color) accented with sparkling beading. I carried asian star lillies in red, rust, yellow and orange, the stems tied with a garnet colored velvet ribbon.
After the judge pronounced us man & wife (we got the same traditional ceremony that one would get in a church wedding)
we had a buffet at my sisters. My second eldest daughter who had worked in the bakery with me ( I'm a retired baker)
made our cake...three tiered carrot cake with cream cheese icing, decorated with calla lillies..simple, elegant, and beautiful....and not a piece left lol....
We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary...I baked & decorated a smaller version of our wedding cake for us....still feels like we're on our honeymoon, yet we also feel like we've always been together.....
