For the last few weeks, my pet rat, Pox, has been knocking her waterbottle out of the cage all the time! I don't know why she's doing this: She's over 2 years old and has never done so before. I've tried two different bottles, (both seem to be working) and I've tried tap water and filtered water. Can anyone tell me why she's doing this or what I can do about it? Thanks so much! 8D

Rats are curious and like to have fun. Give it some toilet paper rolls and other "rat" toys to play with. Wire the water bottle firmly to the cage.

She's just fooling around.
One of my rats used to bleed the water out of the bottle onto the cage floor. A few times I let the bottle stay empty for a few hours when they did this. They actually figured out that when they drained the water out, they ran out of water, and quit doing it.
Or, put an extra wire or whatever on the cage to secure the bottle.

My hamster knocks her water bottle off the cage too.
This is because they need to GET OUT of the cage---when they feel really active, they like to run around and knock the water bottles off. So playing with your rat more often, taking him out more, would help.
The best solution would be to use a rat water cup. I now use a water cup for my hamster.

He wan'ts to DO something, ive heard rats really like swimming in a sink or something, pluss he might just wanna climb, give him sometin to climb sometime and make sure you put little toys in there, like toilet paper rolls, and maybe a wood ball or something.

My guess would be boredom. Maybe you should ask someone at a pet shop. They might know.
