Where is the common sense?

Training only goes so far, then adrenaline, excitement, and fear take over. There is no amount of training which can fully prepare for an actual life or death moment. Common sense, is hardly common in an emergency, and I hope you never have to understand what that means. But since you ask, common sense is not risking your life for the sake of people who don't appreciate it, yet people still become police officers, fire fighters, and serve in the military.

There is certainly none in this moronic question. It is farly obvious the officers walked out into traffic to retrieve their equipment and had mis-estimated the distance and speed of the on coming partol car.

It is very difficult to estimate closing speed and distance especially at night and when the object is coming directly at you, and especially when the terrain is flat and treeless. Not to mention probable fatigue and stress.

So you should look inward and ask "where is the common sense AND where is th compassion in your own selfishness." These officers are risking their lives to protect your life and poperty and it is not helpful when some uninformed, opinionated, armchair, never risked a thing for anyone else in their life, second guesser chimes in with some moronic question of their skills, abilities and training.

Go back to watching the Simpsons and have another box of bon-bons.
