Esau did give up his birthright, and this was the event that brought forth the manifestation of hatred from the 'Judge'. He has not changed, as so many obviously think He has from looking at the other answers. The birthright is still very important and is an issue. To dispise the birthright handed to Jacob and the remnant of his seed line, is not a light matter. Yahshua the Messiah came through that line. This is the line that the Dominion Mandate of the world belongs to. It even has a throne on this earth right now that Yahshua is soon to be given at his return. Yet you can see how many think that was important, becasue of another false doctrine they have brought in from Babylon, the virgin birth. I'm telling, Yahweh hates the majority. He does not hear their prayers. He has sent them a strong religious delusion that they should believe a lie that they all might be damned. Filthly mongrelized world, just like in the days of Noah. Noah was picked, for one reason, because his gene pool was clean!

Hated for giving up his birthright? I don't know if he was hated...but Esau definitely missed out on some great blessings. There is a lot of interest in the line of the promise, however, many of the tribes have been lost. This is where your question gets weird and confusing...I am not sure who despised their birthright or who should be hated.....

I dont think so. That hatred ceased when the twin brothers met as the pronouncement went saying that he would be a servant to his brother.
Why do you consider the genetic line? Maybe you could establish a new religion and a new holy book just like Muhammed did with the other son of Abraham.

Because the promise is no longer contingent upon genetics. As Jesus said, you MUST be born again to see the Kingdom of God. Those who are not born again, even if they are Jews, do not hold the birthright. Only the remnant, i.e. the "Israel of God" made up of ALL believers (Jew and gentile) have the birthright.

are you sure that Esau was hated because he gave up his birthright? Esau was beloved in the sight of his father Isaac...however, Esau was hated for the intentions of his heart...not for the birthright.

The last shall be first and first will be last.
Man is created first flesh then the spirit,
There is a greater truth than that which you can see with your eyes.
