I pulled my hamstring playing football last sunday and I have another game coming up next sunday... I dont need to be 100% healthy but what can I do to heal it enough as to avoid discomfort with every step i take. I have been using bengay as well as compression wraps... what more can i do and how fast can I expect it to heal?

A pulled hamstring can be sore for a couple of days. When I played soccer in school I used to pull them alot of times when I forgot to stretch before practice or a game. What helps your muscles alot is if you try putting ice or a cold pack on it for 15mins then take it off for 15 more minutes or put something warm on it for that 15 minutes. Ibuprofen is good for muscles too. If it keeps hurting try to get your potassium up by eating bananas that will help the muscles rebound and should help the healing process. Hope this helped.

I pulled my hamstring in 1981, and it still hurts on really cold days.

You might want to give it a little more than a week, if you want it to ever fully heal.

I think that rest is one of the most important things because (I'm sure you have heard this before) it could get worse. Judge whether you think you can play by the way it feels and try to keep it stretched. I hope this helped and good luck!
