I think that you could come up with something better than that, Because the wedding is after christmas, a christmas card seems silly. Just go to a scrap book store or to envelopemall.com and buy a nice cardstock/cover sheet paper, i.e. 100lb or so, and a pretty translucent paper. You can have the translucent paper printed at an office supply store like office max or staples, 2 per page to conserve, and then cut them to size and layer it over the cardstock and tie with a pretty ribbon. Have the colors match your wedding scheme and it will look classy and expensive, but cost very little.

Hi. Yes. That is too cheap.
Save money and do not send Christmas cards this year. Instead, send out a proper wedding invitations. But they should go out soon....like THIS WEEKEND!
They can be really simple if you want. Go and get a kit from Walmart, Target, Michael's, Office Max, etc. and do them up on your computer.
OR.....even at dollar stores I have seen wedding invitations. They are the kind that you fill in the date, time, location, etc. This would work if you are having something informal.
But I would opt for the kit...they are only $25 and you may even find some on clearance! I saw some at Target a while back that were only $13 on clearance.

Well...really, it does. Do you know anyone with a computer? You could sign up for a free trial, or a one month sub. of Hallmark.com and they have invitations you can print off your computer. You don't have to use the wedding invitations since it is in Dec. ....use a Christmas scene if you wish and just change the words. The cost maybe 10.00 for sub. 5.00 for envelopes, and some typing paper! If you are really tight for money, make the invitation post card style and place it in your Christmas cards...just a thought?
Any way, congratulations and lots of luck!

I'm having similar issues. I had to push back my wedding because I couldn't find a place cheap enough. You would be surprised at how forgiving your friends and family can be when they know that money is a real issue for you. Maybe you can make your Christmas cards wedding themed, like a picture of the two of you, or something along those lines, and throw in the Merry Christmas at the end.

How many people are you inviting? You can print your own invitations on invitation paper that you can buy at most craft stores or Wal-Mart. (In fact, the Wal-Mart's around here are starting to clearance it out, so you can get it for a way good deal!) I would advise that you do that. The other way does sound too cheap. If you don't want the expense of mailing the invitation, you could hand them out if you are going to see people around Christmastime.

Yes that sounds cheap I am getting married next year. Go to target and at least get some nice regular card stock paper white or ivory and make a simple card invite and you may be able to print them out on a regular printer.

If that is what you want to do, then go for it.
Personally I would rather have an invite. You can get really cheap "make-your-own" invites at a craft store. For 200 guests, we spent $50 on invites which includes the cost of the kit, the extras that we added to make them our own (background paper, decals, etc) and the printing price.

Go to a craft store and purchase do it yourself invitations. That's what I did. I went to AC Moore with my 40% coupon and purchased 2 packets of 50 invites with response cards for only $15 each. Much cheaper than anything else out there.

Yes. That sounds too cheap.
If you want to save money, pick a nice paper, maybe even holiday themed and print them yourselves in a nice font (check your local staples or office depot for fancy papers). OR try the print-your-own invites from the local craft stores. And some craft stores also have nice paper, but its probably more expensive than the office-place.

Print it out on your home computer using some pretty coloured paper so the invite is at least a pretty one. That will be fine I think.
