I have horrible credit, and I'm going back to school in Jan. I have defaulted on a student loan, so I can't get federal grants or loans. All other financial institutions keep denying me. 2 different places approved me, but one was in the Camen Islands, so i didn't trust that. They wouldn't even send me any paperwork until I sent $1500. Allstate approved me, they sent my contract and everything. I'll get the money about 5 days after they receive the $2000 security deposit. Does this sound legit?

Sounds like a SCAM.

Never pay money upfront on a personal loan.

The scammers have been making up names that are similar to legitimate financial companies in order to lure victims.

The kicker is the email address. If the person that you are dealing with is using a generic email address (ie Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) then they are definitely a scammer. A legit company would have its own domain.

Cayman Islands? - it's a scam. No legit loan place asks you for that kind of money up front - you'll never see that money again

For laughs, I rode a youngsters tricycle via one. They have been NOT pleased and weren't going to allow me order till I mentioned I would not transfer till I bought my order. There have been 5 - 6 autos at the back of me.
