Why must we have this debate about whether (or not) we evolved from a bunch of dim-witted monkies? The Bible CLEARLY states that we was created by Gawd, so can't we focus on something else that's more important like coming up with a cure for homosexuality?

Haha! Not far from an actual questions I've seen posted by Christians. The only way to know if it is genuine or not is to check spelling and grammar. You had few errors so I'm guessing you're an atheist.

But why would what's written in the bible be through?
I don't pretend to say that everything that is written in the bible is not through but personally I think creationism is just a story for kids, a good moral.
But it is certainly not a good explanation of how man was created, it's just a story.
All religions had some versions of human creation, how can you have the pretension to say the christian version is the through.
For me living outside the U.S.A. .I felt totally revolted when I saw a bunch of big fat preachers trying to convert Thai people in the street when I was on travel there.
Personally I grew up in a christian environment, I just found ll the rituals ridiculous, like any belief in something dogmatic that pretend to know everything.
this has been designed to manipulate people.
It is really incredible that some people still believe in this.
I think it is just a lack of intelligence or hopefully education.

There are few people more conservative then I am. And my faith in God in secure. However, I believe we evolved from lower life forms.

Yes, I am Christian. "But the Bible, the Bible", you cry. I have seen nothing in the new testament and the words of Christ that are contrary to the theory of evolution. The old testament is not the word of Christ. It has many stories, many meant to teach principles, but it is not a document of historic fact.

God gave me a mind to think with. The evidence that we evolved and that the earth has been hear for approx. 4 billion years and that the universe is approximately 15 billion years old, is very strong.

So, God decided to start with a BIG Bang. That's not even contrary to the old testament. He said let there be light. And when that bang went off, I'll bet there was an awful lot of light.

Focus on Christ's words. Those are the ones that count.

the church's held onto the beleif that the world was flat.... fought the people who claimed to have proven other wise.... eventually the church had to deny the world was flat.... then science began to study gravity.. and the church vilified the scientist and fought the understanding of gravity... delayed the understanding for centuries... today christians must accept that gravity is indeed a law of nature.... now science is studying evolution, and again religion seeks to make themselves a barrier to the understanding of this LAW of nature.. it is a law... they bicker, nit pick, they don't seek to understand it... just seek to stop the understanding of it... You will know them by their works... the bible thumpers have proven themselves to be barriers to the truth.. shouldn't we take a second look at the effects of religion on the planet .... for their actions speak louder than words.. they are the first to proclaim they know it all, but it's obvious they don't even know the basics.. it's natural to not have all the answers when we begin to learn something.. but christians don't want us to learn the answers... they just want to tell us we are wrong before the answers are understood... that's called being a hypocrite, that seeks to remove the speck from a person's eye while they have beams in their own...

Seriously, people.

Monkeys and apes are not the same animal. Why does everyone confuse them? It's like calling hyenas dogs or squirrels raccoons.

With this sort of factual error, I see no need to even answer the question. Good thing too. The rest is typical troll gibberish.

Edit: Weird Darryl - I'd give you ten thumbs up for that if I could.

Your English is appalling> Where did you go to school - Louisiana?

Seriously though - your whole point of reference is the bible - but many people, including myself - know that the bible is just a book of stories written by fevered religious types long ago.

The Bible says that God created everything. The real question is who created the bible. The answer may surprise you.

I'm not a liberal, but I believed that modern apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor. I don't accept the Bible as historical.

we do not believe in god therefore we do not follow that book which is full of hypocrisy and contradictions, monkeys are probably a lot smarter than you. as for homosexuality we don't need a cure for that, we need a cure for cancer or your stupidness. and don't forget that your god created everything {as you keep telling us} and is to be thanked for everything so thank him when you see him, i wont hold my breath though

Stop lying.

Each time you lie in the name of religion it looks more and more worthless to everybody else.

Your anti-scientific views are the worst P.R. for Christianity.
