I've written a poem for my sister for her 30th birthday. I want to do something special with it. Sometimes she burns the edges of the paper and it looks really neat but I don't want to copy her own idea. Any suggestions???

You could pour tea on it to make it look old and ruffle the edges a bit. You could also get it plaqued.

More than the presentation of your poem, it is the poem itself that should make a difference to your sister. But if you think an add on would help, you can take help from your computer literate friends who can make designs for the paper no ends.....

You could frame it in a nice frame, write it on very heavy duty writing paper, then wrap it. She will certainly treasure it, no matter how you present it! What a great gift you are giving her! You can also use a watermark background with a faint picture of her if you have a photo program, which would be a beautiful touch. Best of luck!

put ground up coffee beans in a coffee filter, wet them, and then dab the paper with the coffee filter filled with the ground up coffee beans until its as dark as you want it to be, and then stick it in an oven at its lowest temperature for several minutes. Dont let it burn. Hope this helps! P.S. Just so you know, do this BEFORE there are words on the paper

Well you could try and make the peom look old on the paper, scrunch up the paper then with some cold tea paint on the tea, it gets caught up in the creases of the paper and gives it an old rustic look. looks pretty cool,
