Now my question is my calf muscles on my legs and in front hurt so painfully, and my arm muscles always feel like a heavy load when I walk especially in the cold weather. I feel like a leaden weight and have to force myself to walk. I do have arthritis, and don't warm up before walking. Could this be soemthing else?

Walking is a form of warming up, however you should start out slow, before you go full force. this could be shin splints, or dehydration. I can say that because I used to do the same thing in the bottom of my feet. someone at the gym told me that I could be dehydrated. I started taking in more water and haven't had the problem scince. arthiritis is usually in your joints, so it's probably not that. shin splits hurt bad, and they can be caused due to having too flat of feet or too high of an arch. there are shoes at the shoe store you can buy for either problem that will help. alot of people don't know that, but if you have either too flat of feet or too high of an arch, you will always get shin splints easily. just look at the shoe box and it can tell you what kind of feet they are meant for, if not ask for assistance. also are you stretching good after wards? this could be your problem too. when your muscles are warm, take 20 to 30 seconds on each muscle, and really let it stretch and relax after words. be careful not to over stretch, but get enough of a stretch that it lenghtens your muscle out.
