This is probably the most hypothetical question I have ever seen.
Well its the same as any organism, at some point you have to leave your young to fend for themselves, it doesn't mean you still don't come down every now and again to check up on them. But they don't want us to know they are doing it so they don't make it a public thing, that way we know they are there but also believe we have our own will and can stand on our own two feet. Just like how most Christians must feel about God, you know He's watching over you but you also know you can do things on your own, otherwise what would be the point in trying. Or your parents obviously.
