Your purse/bag is where you carry your treasures and your dream is saying to keep a close watch on your heart (Where you're treasure is there your heart will be also" (Matt. 6:1) lest, you lose it.

Spending too much time on trying to interpret the meanings of your dreams quite simply seems like a waste of that time. Any professional psychologist or psychiatrist would almost certainly agree with me on that score. Sometimes your sleeping mind simply locks onto an idea or theme and plays it over and over again for a period of time. I recently had an almost nightly series of dreams where I made a left turn in front of a red Camaro while pulling into my driveway, and since it was so specific and detailed, I was nervous and extra-cautious every time I made that turn (looking extra-hard for any red Camaros!) for the next month. Needless to say, nothing ever came of it, so try not to attach too much importance to the possible meaning of any particular dream, OK? As I once read somewhere; "We only dream because our minds are alive, the dead don't have this problem."

Any reoccuring dream usually means some unresolved issue. I used to have a reoccuring dream that I was back in high school and never graduated. I stopped having it when I got my college degree. Your dream could mean you really do fear losing your money or it could mean something more symbolic. Perhaps an insured savings account or a living will might help you alleviate the dream.

A "bag" is another term for a gig or a job, so maybe you had a life change and are feeling like you've lost something important to you in this change. Is this true?

I can only think that you are terribly worried about loosing your money and other things of value in this bag. Try to reassure yourself that it is completely safe, and that if one day it would get lost (something which might never happen), you'll take it as calmly as possible.

Why worry about something that might never happen?

That is interesting there is a pretty cool book of my friends that tells what objects in dreams mean, I'll look it up and get back to you.
