If the Lord God exists, and He alone is God…then He is under no obligation to anybody or anything, even to His creation – us humans.
This implies that He would be Master, and we…if anything, His servants.
If a servant could demand anything from his master and get it, that would make the servant the master and the master the servant.
You atheists often demand proof from God, and in doing so…you attempt to be God and subject God to your whims. It was enough for Him to humble Himself and become one of His own pathetic and small creatures…and even willingly and obediently enduring the cross for the sins of such wretched sinners – even to display His wondrous grace, mercy, and love. While you spit on His grace, mercy, and love….do you dare demand that He demean Himself in subjection to your evil desires?

You “word of faith” Christians often “name and claim” things…saying you are speaking the “rhema” of God, and bringing things that are not into existence. In doing so, you are claiming equality with God, as if you were God. If you truly were “baptized by the Holy Spirit”, then the Holy Spirit inside you would shutter in horror for your blasphemy…and cause you to be filled with godly sorrow that leads to repentance and life.
You others who say stuff like, “my god isn’t like that” or “I don’t want to believe a god like that exists”…do nothing more than create an imaginary god in your own mind…in YOUR image, as if you were God. Does clay have power over the potter?

If God exists – and He alone is God – what power would His creation have over Him?

Armless Joe:
Have you ever worked in a huge corporation? Some people do...and almost never even see the CEO.
God made Himself known...through the glory of His creation. God made Himself personally known through His Word...the Bible. Moreso, God made Himself known when He delivered the Jews from Egypt. Even moreso, God made Himself known when He dwelt among us - even as a man - and died for us.

To add upon your own analogy, do you think the Pharaoh himself came and greeted every slave and personally told each and every slave what to do when building the pyramids?

When a potter creates a clay pot, he or she does so for a reason...the pot has a purpose that serves the needs of its creator. This purpose may be as simple as the pleasure and satisfaction the potter derives from simply looking at his creation or it may be more concrete such as creating a pot to hold water for cut flowers. Whatever, the reason, the potter has every right to smash his creation into little pieces if it doesn't satisfy the purpose he had in mind (e.g., if he doesn't find it attractive or if it doesn't hold water).
If God created us (and I believe he did), then he had a reason for his creation...and if we don't satisfy that purpose, he has every right to dispose of us as he sees fit. Whatever else that purpose might be, it is clear that satisfying that purpose required us to do so by our own choice not solely by design. Not unlike the development of computers...we can create a computer to serve a whole lot of purposes...it can process information, perform complex calculations, and even interact with other objects to manipulate and control them (robotic machinery for example). However, when we try to develop artificial intelligence (a computer that thinks and learns), we have to remove barriers to allow it to grow beyond its programming...we have to allow it to think and learn on its own independent of our programming!
The way I see it, God designed us (mankind collectively and each of us individually) for a purpose...and to fulfill that purpose, he had to give us the ability to satisfy that purpose by choice instead of programming. At the simplest level, the choice is to serve him or not...if the pot chooses not to serve the potter (perhaps because it has no desire to be a slave?), that doesn't alter the fact that it was created to serve and if it doesn't, it is useless to the creator!
I agree that it is stunningly arrogant to demand proof from God...if he exists and he is who he claims to be (the creator!) then he alone has the ability and the right to determine what he wants from us and to judge our performance according to whatever criteria he wants to set. We can complain and argue all we want but that doesn't alter the fact that if we choose not to satisfy him, we have no right to demand satisfaction from him!
How many managers would tolerate (and continue to reward) an employee that arrogantly (and consistently) refused to do what they asked him or her to do because that employee doesn't comprehend the purpose (even after detailed explanation)? Heck, some employers would fire an employee for a single incident of disrespect and many would fire an employee that harmed the company through a single instance of failing to follow the company policy.
"What fire" is a pretty reasonable response if you don't believe God even exists...if you don't believe that he created you then how could you recognize that he has a job for you to do. If he does exist, your failure to recognize or accept the job doesn't alter the fact that he is under no obligation to give a paycheck to someone that refuses to do the job!

While I am not an atheist, I don't claim any inside knowledge about our Source. I do believe that we humans have no real control over the workings of the universe and whatever we sprang from. So in that you and I agree. However, the fact that others don't necessarily share your theology and/or that they question or dispute religious doctrine does not make them evil. I thought that this judgement ended with the Inquisition. I believe that the power of the universe- if sentient-is fair minded enough to understand that all humans are flawed, finite, and limited beings. As it says in the Bible "we (presently) glass darkly." That includes ALL of creation's children, which means you and me.

How amazing, I just answered one of your questions and made mention of the potter and the clay. Don't you love it, when the scripture which had been on your mind, is the pastor's subject or etc.
Revelation 4:11, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, AND FOR THY PLEASURE THEY ARE AND WERE CREATED".
God is the potter, and we but His clay.
I love this site, because we can share with each other, and I have a desire to learn as well as share what God has shown me. I wish people could all have a desire for truth, even if it differs with what we currently believe. You will never learn, unless you have this attitude. May God keep us from the doctrines and commandments OF MEN.

There is only one God, people interpret God in different names and forms. God is the Origin and Destination of the Universe and is beyond life and death. All religions of world teach human way to get close to God. You give your Best, God will give thy Best. Ask God for help and forgive, God will help and forgive you. Pray; Worship and Thank God for everything. Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow. For Success in Life; Believe in Self and God, Learn from Past, Concentrate in Present, Plan for Future. Have control on, be the master of, not the slave of your body, senses, and mind. Purpose of this Life is to Gain and Share utmost Knowledge and Experience to differentiate and choose Right, Good, God against Wrong, Bad, Devil. Set your Desire level perfect or OK to be brave, no low to be coward, no high to be cruel. You have rights of Survival, Self Defence, and Freedom.

We have no power. Understanding that has been the largest blessing in my life to date. If I deny God, I end up constantly trying to wrest power from Him to control my life, if I treat God like an enormous vending machine (insert x good deeds, recieve x good things) then I'm setting myself up for disappointment in the least. When I see all that I have as a gift of God, not just material things, but relationships, abilities, senses, etc. I can life thankfully and free from worry about control.

You make a point more than a question. But I agree with the point in as much as God is not held to His creation except that which He has willingly set Himself subject to. In other words, He has told us that He is to be held accountable to His own words. "Test Me in this", for example. He has given us insight into His future for us and that declaration is something that He is held to. Again, that is by His own choosing though.
Hope that helps.

If such a god existed, why whould he expect servitude without making himself known?
Do masters not make themselves known to their servants? Did those servants who built pyramids, those who were slaves in the US, do their work without some form of authoritative figure there to make sure their presence was known?
You talk as if we demean such a god, yet cultural/social structures require that presence for such a master/servant relationship to work. And the master, in your example, is coming up short.

I see the point you are making. But allow me to meander a little if I could. My wife is a little thing and I am somewhat larger and stronger than her. I could pick her up and throw her around, or turn her inside out because of the difference in our makeup. Does she have any control over me? Yes, because of my love for her. I restrain myself, and subjugate myself in many ways because I am bound by this love. Christ also allowed Himself to become less than He is, because of the power of His love for us. We do have a meager amount of control over God because He loves us so much that He has allowed us this. By asking in prayer, we can have the desires of our heart.

A tool gives the bearer its power. But does the bearer need to tool to know who he is in order to use it? No. So not only is it nonsense to expect Creator to perform tricks at Creation's whim, but also nonsense to expect that Creator needs Creation to believe anything about Creator.
