Why? Does a parent not love his little children even though he is bigger, smarter, wiser, more experienced and generally more powerful?

Have you ever made anything that you did not care about? Please do not miss understand me, I think this is a very valid question. However, what ever role "God" had in our creation is it enough that he would care for us? I have made some significant mistakes in my life that I have defended to the end. What if I made something perfect, not that I can, how would I feel about that thing. If we are created in his image, not that I or anyone else actual knows what is meant by this statement, I would hope that he too would feel compassion and enjoyment with his creation.

HE is just like our mother, all beings evolved out of HIS womb of creation. BTW, HE loves all beings incl. of humans and piss ants, as HIS children. I am not a christian though.

The fact that the Ominpotent God is made out of pure, uncontainable love.
Lots of times, what we think of as silly and foolish is only a wisdom that is too big for our finite minds to understand.

Sounds like a movie of the week theme:
"He had it all, great career, slammin' hot wife, the universe...but still, something was missing. So he created humans to fill the void of his loneliness."
Not sure if its a drama or a sitcom yet...probably a sitcom tho.

There is one thing even God can't do.
Worship Himself.
He loves and needs to be worshiped and man alone has the ability to do so.

God doesn't need a reason.
It is humans that need a reason.
Because humans need a reason, then it's why they question God and what goes on all around. They look for a sense and a reason for everything. Then when it doesn't make sense why a loving God can let bad things happen to good people, then it's understandable they become like athiests.
What's important to see about this, is that's it's our desire to make sense of things, to determine a reason, to explain God in terms of our 'logical minds' that is the problem with finding the answer to questions such as this.
The reason we try to answer questions about God with our intellect, is it's predominately how humans experience their world. We observe things in the outside world, then we reflect upon 'the happening' in our minds - inside of ourselves. Then the tricky part, is that we believe that what we think is reality. This results in the phenomena that the way most people look at the world is from the outside. We get our information from there, people and society form opinions of us as we grow - conditioning us more, society tells us what to do - we follow like sheep, not able to question this and make our own path.
So then we also expect that God is somehow outside us, in the heavens above, omnipotent, in a place we can't reach. But if you look close in the bible you will see that it says that man was created in the image of God and that the keys to heaven are within, they are inside of ourselves.
I don't know if you are Christian but there is a good story in the bible in the book of Job. Job was a successful person with all kinds of wealth, many cattle, a large happy family iwth his own land, etc. Then one after another, tradegy's came and took the 'outside things' away: his family murdered, his cattle died, the house blown down, etc. Something like that. Then he was left with nothing 'on the outside' to cling to. Sitting in this empty field, all alone and crying, he started to turn within, seeking some kind of comfort in this chaos he was now in. It was in this destitude, that he was able to start to call out to God in earnest. Prior to the bad luck, he was only a believer, not having an essential connection to god. For him to get that essential connection, all had to be taken away to point him back to himself. So what I like about this story is that it was only when all those outside things were taken away, that he was ready to seek that love in a genuine way, by turning within. Turning within said another way is to: drop one's reliance on trying to figure everything out with one's mind. It is coming to the point of realizing that you don't have the answer, and that one can't get the answer to this question with logic. Then he was ready to 'surrender' his mind, and get very quiet and wait to receive an answer to his question. When it came, then he knew what God was, and he knew he was loved since ever.
Nobody can tell you what God is, the mind can't comprehend it. You can only find out the truth about God by having the experience of making the connection directly. It is in times of trouble and when one is feeling nothing makes sense that we have a very creative opportunity to get this answer. We don't need any special tool for it, just get very quiet and with a strong desire to get the answer to your question you will receive it: It's very much like:
Knock and the door shall be opened, it is only in asking that you will recieve, etc.
So you see 'the door is opened', 'the answer is received'. It doesn't come from logic, 'you' don't arrive at it, it's given.
Hope this helps!
Betsy
