I have an appointment with a CCCS counselor in 3 weeks. I am not late on any of my payments, but I need their help desperately.

I would like to stop payments now and worry about it later, after the CCCS meeting. After all, my credit rating will plunge as soon as I go with CCCS.

Is this a bad idea? Will it make any difference if I pay or not pay for the next few weeks?

Thank you for your wisdom
Enrique

Don't default on your credit cards. Make the payments. There is no sense in getting late fees and ending up with default interest rates and all your credit cards.

CCCS is a counseling service. You may not qualify for their debt management program. They may set you up on a budget and you make all the payments yourself.

Do not stop paying these bills and don't let anyone tell you your credit is going down the drain! Consumer Credit Counseling Service is a non profit Government agency set up to answer questions like yours and no action is taken until you approve it!

Trust me on this OK? I've been here before and had to recover from ID theft and bankruptcy!

Make your payments and listen to all the options available to you! If you don't understand something, ask for clarification.

GO! Also visit my website and read it all because after what I've been through I still got my score up from 486 to 730 in a little over a year! CCCS was worth the time, OK?

If at all possible, stay away from these types of services. I digress, since your credit is going into the toilet, it really can't do any more damage. It's your call now. I guess the biggest downfall at this point is getting collections calls.
