There is nothing wrong with loving someone older then you (my guy is 13 years older then I am), but if he is off limits then just move on. It sounds like infatuation, not love, move on.

How can you love somebody if he is off limits, which also means that you never actually went out with him? That is just plain attraction. Don't worry everybody goes through that. It will go away once you don't seen him anymore and once you find somebody more handsome of your age.

depends on what you mean by important...Is he your boss, brother in law, uncle etc. Is he married? If yes to any of these, run and run fast...You do not want to be the person that breaks up a marriage nor lose your job becuase of some stupid little arguement.
Find some else is the best thing to do.

Yes, It's not love sweety it's INFATUATION you probably admire him because of the way he is, his personality and stuff. In the other hand as they say there is not an AGE that matters when you are in love! As long as he has feelings for you as well then you guys will match upp trust! :)

you have a crush on something you know you can't have & it is safe for you, but you need to move on. Don't mess with something you know is off limits, it just brings trouble.

MOve on while you can. You may just be infatuated with his "important" role or he may seem so "sophisticated" because he is older. Just remember older gets "old"!
