I called Nikon regarding my flash not working on my Coolpix L4 camera and they said I would have to send it in for service. I have fresh batteries, all the settings have been reset, and are placed in the proper settings... It appears others have had the same problem and was wondering what the cost is to fix this issue, as my fiancee gave it to me as a gift. Or would it be better to just go out and buy a new camera (probably not Nikon)? Thanks for your help

If you haven't dropped it or gotten it wet it may be covered by the Warranty. Send it in for service. All you have to lose is the cost of postage.

when did he give it to you? recently? if so, take it back for an exchange or refund.

why do you think that others have had the same problem? if you have good evidence of this, I would contact Nikon and express that concern. Any repair on your camera will be over 100 dollars, probably more.

Only Nikon can tell you the cost.
