Ever Hit? No. Thrown down the hallway, thrown things at her, punched holes in the walls and hit her with words, Yes. You just deal. I tried to jump up in the middle of it when I was older and got my self thrown across a room a couple of times. I have seen them fighting in the yard and mom pull a shot gun on him. That scared me to death and totally enraged my dad even worse. Of course that all stemmed from him drinking. Alcohol is the worse thing in the world. I learned from it. I learned what I didn't want when I had a family. I learned what I didn't want in a man and I learned to choose carefully when I finally did get married. Life is about choices.

Well, I would be concerned. If I was a child in school, I wouldn't know where to go. I would tell my school psychologist. This is something that no child should ever face alone.

As I am adult now, I would either confront my father or tell my mom to pack up and get the hell out of the house while you can.

My bio father did and she left him. My 'step'Dad never did out of respect for her but he also knew if he did, one (or all) of us kids would have called the police on him and we probably would have ended up ganging up on him and giving him a thumping. Do what you have to do. Try talking to mom about how it makes you feel. It may be enough to hear her kid is suffering because of it too. If that doesn't work then talk to a trusted family member or friend. I don't agree with keeping it a 'secret'. It's dangerous and often doesn't help change anything. Best of luck!

No. I would tell someone else in my family immediately to relieve the burden of knowing it and then I would say something to my mother, not father about it. I am a little older though...how old are you?

My dad hit my mom many times, because she refused to do drugs or let him have his way.
The best thing to do is to get the police involved. No one deserves to get hit.
