I saw the silliest show on Discovery the other day completely dedicated to the world ending on this day...

I can't wait till that day comes around and they realize that the earth's poles have in fact NOT shifted.....

or of course, there is the possibility that the world will end, in which case those certain individuals won't exactly be able to gloat since mankind will cease to exist....so its a win-win situation for me I guess

let the countdown begin......*exciting*

This show was based on the fraudulent "prophecy" of a man, I believe his name was Harold Browning, who set a date for Christ's return (something expressly forbidden by Scripture). This man also set a date back in 1994 and was wrong. To quote Kathy Bates in "Misery": "HAVE YOU ALL GOT AMNESIA??"
This man was wrong before and now people are eating it up again! Did they all take stupid pills?

From the moment you're considering it may happen you're playing their game, nothing will happen on that date, cause men don't know the time but just God.

Many times over we had seen how incorrect the predictions of men had been regarding the end of the world like that theory of the end of the world in year 2000 or that other theory in the 6th day of the 6th month of 2006 and nothing happened, is it worth to even care abbout this nonsense?

The date comes from the fact that the Mayan's had two different but equally important calender systems. The next time that they both end on the same day is around that date. Its like saying I'll just go and grab my 4018 calender and check what day my birthday is on.

That being said we are planning an all night gaming session.

The poles have shifted numerous times. Evidence for this can be found on the mid-Atlantic rift. This event won't lead to the destruction of the planet, it would just mean that everyone would have to buy a new compass.

Somehow, this reminds me of when the Y2K bug was supposed to cause the U S lots & lots of trouble, a few years ago. When that didn't happen, I laughed so hard at one of my coworkers who'd made vast plans to live thru all that trouble.

No one knows when the world will end. It will happen when God chooses, and that's that.

Don't forget, June 6, 2006 was also suppose to be the end of the world.

My stance? Live life every day as if it is your last one. Let your loved ones know you love them, smile and laugh at least once each day.

Do you really think God wants us sitting around gleefully awaiting the end of the world? I believe God wants us to live our lives and do the best we can.
