I am not sure I understand your question. If your eyes changed from -5.25 to -3.50 by themselves that is fine (your eyes naturally change as you age). But if your prescription is -5.25 and you are going to wear -3.50 you will not see well. It might seem like a slight difference but if you do it, you will see it is not. Your DIA should stay the same.

There is actually no difference between an 8.6 base curve, and an 8.7
Every base curve covers 1 /10 th either way...up or down

So, an 8.6 will fit the same as an 8.5 or 8.7
An 8.7 will fit the same as an 8.6 or 8.8

The diameter from 13.8 to 14.0 usually won't make a difference in the fit either.

But, you can't go from a - 5.25 to a - 3.50 in the power and still be able to see. Unless you have had an exam, and that is what the new prescription is...but if you are just thinking of changing that because someone is giving them to you, it won't work.

Sorry, it's hard to understand your question.

PWR is the strenght of the lense - if you need -5.25 (the - means you are nearsighted/can't see well far away) the -3.5 will improve your vision from if you aren't wearing any contacts, but not very well. The further away from 0 means stronger prescription.

BC has to do with the curve of your cornea - your dr will figure this out

DIA is the size of your contact lense from one edge to the other - again your dr will be able to tell you what size you need to properly fit your eye.

Hope this helps. If your eye changed from -5.25 to -3.5, then your vision improved
