Raised in this. ... "If you will train up a child in the ways of the Lord, when he is grown he will not depart from them. "

2) Is God/Jesus the same person?
Yes, but a trinity. Just as I am a wife, sister, mother, daughter." In the beginning was the word, and the word became flesh."

3) Is there one true church and if so which one is the true one?
There is the kingdom of God. That is the church. "For Christ is the head and we are the body."

4) Do people who kill, rape, or succeed suicide go to hell or heaven?

Would this be called a bet with Satan? Was he trying to prove something to Satan? Explain and please do not quote the Bible I want this to come from what you think and feel.
No, I don't think this was a bet. I think that God was showing the tempter, how His creation in us, remaines in HIM.

9) Do you believe that we are in the last day/years of life on Earth?
I think that each day is a blessing. "no man knows the day of judgement."

10) Do you go to church because you want to be closer to God/Jesus, or do you go just because everyone else does and to make your presence known
I go for fellowship with the Lord. I believe that we refuel our spirit, to walk in power and triumph. "Is any one of you sick? Let him call on the saints of the church for prayer."

Hope this is helpful to you.

I'll do my best with your questions.

1 - I have been an Episcopalian from the moment I was born.
2 - God and Jesus are the same and separate - I believe this but I can't explain it. I think that this is one of the mysteries of Christianity.
3 - I don't believe that there is one true church as everyone must come to God/Jesus along their own path. What works for me may or may not work for you. Christians are called to help and care for all people not just those that they like or want to be with.
4 - I know that through Jesus, God forgives all sins but you have to ask him for forgiveness. I don't know the requirements for getting into heaven - I'm just going to do the best I can until I get there.
5 - There is no certain way that I have to worship. Episcopal churches come in all shapes and sizes depending on the congregation and the rector.
6 - You find salvation through Christ. It's free, all you've got to do is ask for it. You can learn more from reading the Bible as well as reading the writings of other theologians like St. Augustine and even CS Lewis. I also highly recommend books by David Hazard.
7 - Of the two choices given, the older religion is paganism. Christianity did not even break off from Judaism until quite a few years after the death of Christ.
8 - I don't know God's reasons for testing Job. To be honest, I'll have to go back and read that bit in the Bible again.
9 - Sometimes I do feel like we're facing the end of the world as we know it but of course I don't know and I decided a while ago not to worry about it. I will continue to appreciate each day that I have and try to make the world a better place however I can.
10 - I pray to be closer to Christ and I go to church to enjoy the fellowship of other Christians and worship God together. Being part of a Church is a great thing, especially if you're part of a vibrant living church. Church members will help you when you need it - they're always the first ones to arrive with food and comfort when you're sick or something bad happens to you. They provide support to those who grieve and to those who've brought new life into this world. The pastor of the church can provide spiritual guidance. Church isn't absolutely necessary but it's kind of like turning on your lights at home - you can exist without having the lights on and do just fine although it might take you longer to find some things. Going to the right church for you is like turning the lights on - it makes your life easier and it helps you figure out where everything is.

I hope that my answers helped a little.

1) How did you come across your religion?
It was told to me and I chose it as an alternative to suicide.

2) Is God/Jesus the same person?
Yes. I'm not sure if I would word it that way, but essentially, yes.

3) Is there one true church and if so which one is the true one?
Jesus said that it was they who do the will of God, those that have sought the kingdom and live their lives trusting God.

4) Do people who kill, rape, or succeed suicide go to hell or heaven?
If a person does what Jesus says to do in John 3:17 -18, they are God's people, no matter how 'bad' they have been.

5) Is there a certain way you have to worship in your religion?
In John 4, Jesus says that God is looking for those who worship in spirit and truth. So that's how I worship, in spirit and truth.

6) How do I find salvation in your religion?
Trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to have made the sacrifice for sins. Spend the rest of your life trusting God through Jesus Christ.

7) Which is the oldest religion Christian or Paganism?
Paganism. Though Paganism has changed with the times, a form of it has been around a long, long time. Jesus was supposed to come at an appointed time ( or 'Set Time' ) , and so He came nearly 2000 years ago.

8) Why did God/Jesus let all those hardships effect Job? Would this be called a bet with Satan? Was he trying to prove something to Satan? Explain and please do not quote the Bible I want this to come from what you think and feel.
Satan was a liar. And no matter how likely it would appear that Job would curse God, God knew that he wouldn't. I would say to you that the reason why all that happened with God and Job, was for this very purpose. We discuss it. It illustrates so many things about God. And it also illustrates how many bad things can happen to a believer, who will still trust God, AND be right about doing it.

Job was taken care of. God saw to that. Satan - he proved lacking - he didn't know the truth, and he was revealed once again to be the liar that he is, and not in power or control - which God is.

Job's problem was temporary. It wasn't going to last, and we are all going to die. SO whatever bad things happened to Job, it was going to go away. Because we will not live while in these mortal bodies for very long. Job chose to trust God and God honored him.

9) Do you believe that we are in the last day/years of life on Earth?
If you count at least 1007 years to be short and the last years of Earth. It's actually going to be longer than that, but the 1007 years longer is counting from the beginning of the Great Tribulation for 7 years, and also the Millennium for another thousand years. These are the Last Days, and also called the End Times, and we have to look forward to the Rapture of the Church as coming soon. That's what I believe.

10) Do you go to church because you want to be closer to God/Jesus, or do you go just because everyone else does and to make your presence known?
I haven't gone to church for quite a while. I can have the word of God preached to me over the radio or the internet, here is someone I listen to online:
http://twft.com/?page=C2000

Worship is not so mystical when you really define what worship is. I would refer you to Matthew 6 to get an outline on what worship is.

1. Was searching for the truth and went into a Christian church and heard the gospel for the first time in my life.
2. Yes and no. Jesus is the second person in the Trinity which is called God. He is of the same essence as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit.
3. Yes. It is spiritual and is made up of all believers. The church is the entire body of all believers. There is no denominational church that is the true church.
4. A saved or born-again Christian will not rape, murder or com mit suicide willingly. Although, David did commit adultery and did murder a man willingly and was surely saved. He is in heaven. It all depends on whether the person has received Christ as their Savior and have repented of their sin.
5. Yes. God requires worship in Spirit and in truth. The only way to worship God is if we are born-again and have His Spirit indwelling us.
6. Simply by acknowledging that you are a sinner and do not measure up to God's standard of perfection. Then you must repent of your sins and ask for Jesus to come into your life to save you from your sins. Read the gospel of Mark for more on how to be saved.
7. Paganism. Although, true Christianity is not a religion. It is Jesus Christ.
8. Job was tested because even though he was righteous in God's eyes he trusted in his offerings to God for his family. It was not a bet. It was more of a test that Job had to go through to fully trust in God. At the same time God proved to Satan that there was a man on the earth that followed and believed in God.
9. Yes. One Bible prophecy states that the end will come in about one generation's time after the formation of Israel. Israel was formed in 1948. A generation is 100 years in the Bible. The end does not have to come in 2048. It could be earlier.
10. I don't go to church because the church is in what the Bible calls apostasy. It is the great falling away that is supposed to happen in the last days. Many churches today teach wrong doctrines and have been corrupted. If you find a good Bible believing church you are blessed.

1. I was seeking to find meaning in my life and read the Bible. God spoke to me from it's pages.
2.There is One God manifest to man as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3.The only true Church is the one Jesus Himself adds a person to, It is not an organization but a living thing we call it the Body of Christ.
4. Salvation does not come to mankind by living the commandment or doing good works. It comes through faith in Jesus Christ plus nothing. Good work however testify of that faith. I except anyone as a Christian who will confess Jesus as God. God is the only one capable of making the final judgment. For only He can see the heart of a person.
5. Confess your sin (to God not to a man). Believe that what God has told us in the truth. Recognize He worth in our lives and praise Him for what he has done. Going to or belonging to any organized religion is NOT necessary.
6. Salvation comes Only by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. There is nothing we can do that would correct the matter of sin in our lives. God's perfect justice requires the blood and death of the sinner as penalty for sin. Only Jesus could pay the infinite penalty required by that Law. If we don't turn to Him for salvation we must pay the debt of our sin for ourselves.
7. Christianity began one spring day just over 2,000 years ago. Paganism traces to the time of Abraham.. 6,000 years ago..
8. God allowed Satan to test Job so we could see that God is in charge. That God knew the beginning from the end and the Job would bare up under the extreme treatment Satan would put on him. God allowed this not to have Job prove anything to God, and not to prove anything to Satan, but rather to show us who God is, and that He not the devil is in control. That even when we face life problems He is with us and is our Father and cares about us and that He has overcome the problem already.
9. We have been in the last days since Jesus left ans sent the Holy Spirit to be with us. When will the end be.. I am too busy living for my Lord to put much thought into His business. He will handle end times I will trust Him to do it just right..
10. I worship. I don't attend and church regularly. I sometime meet with a few other believers, sometimes I am alone. Every church is just a man made organization.. I can never leave the Church Jesus is building. I am one of His bricks..

I guess being a Christian is far different than you had imagined.. IHS Jim

1)My parents
2)God/Jesus/Holy Spirit are the same person but the same time are different people who are fully God (trinity)
3)?
4)if the killers and rapists ask for forgiviness and truly mean it then they will be forgiven and go to heaven. As for suicides I beleive that if they belived in God then they will go to heaven because all sin is the same, an affront to God, so if they were saved then Jesus wiped away that sin along with the others
5)with your heart, other than that you can do it in almost anyway
6)If you believe that Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and ask for forgiveness of your sins you will be forgiven.
7)Paganism/Since there was pagan religions during the time before Jesus was born.
8)To test Job's faith. No. No. Even though this happened to one person you can take from for every bad thing that happens to you. You can know that God is in control and that in the end this is God's Plan. At the end of the book he gets more stuff then he did at the beginning. All in all I'm not entirely sure.
9)No one can know
10)Church is there so that you can have fellowship with other believers and so that stronger christians can build into you.

I was born into Christianity, and affirmed my choice when I was in my late 20s.

Yes, God and Jesus are the same.

I believe that the Roman Catholic Church is the "truest" church, but it is not the only path to salvation.

Only God can answer that question.

There are certain prayers that are said, but no specific way to worship.

Salvation comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Paganism is older than Christianity

God did bet Satan that Job wouldn't turn from God even after undergoing many hardships and allowed Satan to have unfettered influence over Job's life. God won that bet.

No one knows the time when Jesus shall return. I try to live my life in anticipation of His return, and whatever happens, happens.

I attend church to be with other people of a similar belief, and to worship God in a setting that is conducive to such worship. I don't need church to worship God, however.

1. I beat up my brother and my punishment was to go to Sunday School until my behavior improved. I went for 10 years or so. Since I was there, I looked into it.

2. 3 persons - 1 God. Isaiah 43:10 says one God. 1 Timothy 3:16 says God was manifest in the flesh.

3. Yes - Christ's church. It is, however, made up of many denominations.

4. I'm not their judge.

5. No.

6. See www.godlovestheworld.com for details.

7. Don't know. Don't care.

8. Changed my mind - I'll answer. I think that God is glorified in everything. He made us and has the absolute right to do as He pleases. Especially since Job asked Him to be his God. That's what serving a God is about - doing HIS will and not thinking He's like Santa Claus. Satan tries to do stuff to take away from God's glory. It didn't work.

In my personal trials, I have improved as a person. God has allowed trials to mold me more into who He wants me to be.

9. Nobody knows. Jesus didn't even know when He was here. I know we are closer.

10. I want to be closer to God. I want to serve others. I want to fellowship with others. I want to encourage others.

Have a nice day!

Mike

Raised, and chose to keep my beliefs.
Yes, the same...
A church is true only if it is meant for worshiping one God.
No certain worship rules...as long as it is spirit-led and from the heart (lifting hands, amens, shouting, or just worshiping privately)

Salvation--Believe Jesus is the son of God and he died on the cross to save us from sin, accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, repent of your sins and choose to follow Christ, and be baptized. Once you are saved, you will always be saved. Nothing or no one can take that away from you.

I will have to read the story of Job again. Not very familiar with it. But, God gives us trials to test our faith and make us stronger.

Yes, the last days are upon us because God said certain things would happen, and they are now.

Not sure about the Pagan question.
Not sure about the suicide question...will have to look it up. People who kill or rape will go to heaven as long as they are saved and ask for forgiveness.

I go to church for worship, to be with Christian believers that I know are wonderful friends, and to become closer to God. If I were going to see what everyone is wearing, or see who is there and who they are there with, I would be going for the wrong reason.

Good questions!! Really makes you stop and think for a minute about things, especially the relationship with me and God.
