I know there's going to be a lot of turmoil caused by this question, but I guess I kind of have to ask it anyway.

In the bible, is there anything that tells Christians not to judge others? Where does it say this (please quote)? Now explain why it is that there is so much judgment toward atheists/pagans, etc. on this website?

Do you feel it is YOUR job and not the job of your God to judge these people?

Also, when you are questioned about what you would do if you were wrong, why is it that most of you answer with a question and not an answer? Do you believe yourselves to be all knowing? Wasn't/Isn't that Jesus' job? Why is it okay not to educate others and yourselves through debate and discussion rather than just ignoring the actual question so you can sound holier than others? How is this creating more followers of Christ? Don't you think it's doing more harm than good to be so closed minded?

I mean no harm, these are just questions I'm curious about.

I don't think I've ever bashed anyone's beliefs. It's laughable that you didn't answer the question without some sort of harsh judgment yourself.

My apologies to those who took offense to my questions. I didn't mean to make anyone feel as if they were unreliable or judgmental. I was simply asking based on what I've seen in a lot of cases here in R&S, not everyone has given terrible answers and I should have sited that within my question. I have learned a great deal from Christians and Atheists alike. Again, apologies to everyone who thought I was generalizing. Thank you to those who understood my questions.

First, let me say that I appreciate the tone of your question. The scripture you may be thinking of is "Judge not, lets you be judged". This is the verse taken out of context more than any other in scripture. So let's take a look at it.

First, we need to look at this from a legal standpoint. The Bible is a Testament, that is a legal document. God is Judge--again, legal. There is the Law, consequences for breaking such, as well as "witnesses" and "advocates". There is also an accuser that is at work to condemn. All of these are legal terms that are wrapped in the spiritual.

In the "judge not" quote, basically that means to stop being a witness to the gospel but rather push the Judge off of His seat and proclaim the defendant guilty. This is the practice of "excommunication" practiced by some religions and most cults. However, there is another kind of judgment that seeks to "question a witness", that is, to see whether or not someone who claims to be Christian, or even claimed to have once been a Christian is a genuine claim. This we are exhorted to do. This is acceptible judgment according to 1Cor. 5:12...
For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside [the church]? Do you not judge those who are inside?
We then become witnesses to those who are genuine and those who are impostors.

However, on the other side, we are commanded NOT to judge those who are not, and never claimed to be a Christian. This is a job for the Judge and the Judge alone. The next verse states clearly... "But those who are outside God judges."

So there we see that the most we can do is just proclaim the truth. If it is rejected, we nod and go our way and pray accordingly. However, in the case of someone calling themselves a Christian, but their fruit shows otherwise, we are commanded to shine a light to expose the works of darkness accordingly.

Do not concern yourself with those who do not know how to conduct themselves in court. Ignore them and concentrate on the evidence and argument at hand in regard to eternal salvation.

Yes it does say not to judge.

Luke 6:37
"Do not judge, and you to will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven."

Why is there so much judgement on this website?
Well first I would like to say. That no one is perfect. And not everyone knows its a sin. Its okay. God forgives.

Do I feel its MY job and not the job of my God to judge these people?
No. I believe that God is the only person to judge. I'm not gonna lie. I judge people all the time. Sometimes I don't even know when I do it. but I do. I'm not perfect. No one is. Its just how it is.

When i am questioned about what i would do if I was wrong why I answer with a question not an answer?
I'm not sure. I try my hardest to give answers not questions. But sometimes when people answer with questions and not answers. I think that they're trying to make you think. I'm not sure. I don't know everything.

All knowing?
NO! I am NOT all knowing. Sure I may know answers to SOME things. But not everything. The only person that does is God. But if some christians think they are all knowing. they're not. No one is. And it say that in the bible. Where in the bible? I'm not sure. But ive read a verse like that b4. And I know that much. and yes. thats jesus' job. only he knows everything.

Why is it okay not to educate others and yourselves through debate and discussion rather than just ignoring the actual question so you can sound holier than others?
Truthfully. I have no idea.

Is this creating more followers of christ?
No I don' t believe it is.

Don't I think it's doing more harm than good to be so closed minded?
Yes. Definately.

There are my answers. I hope you got the answers you wanted.

Bible critics have been scoffing and mocking the Bible and its devotees for over a century now. Higher criticism's chief protagonists have been philosophers, skeptics, and atheists of various nationalities and temperaments, all holding the common bond of despising the sacredness of the Scriptures.

Their premise is quite simple: There are no such things as miracls, or a miracle working God; therefore any references to such things in the Bible have to be the product of wishful thinking and overactive imaginations.

Jonah and the big fish, Daniel in the lions' den, Jesus feeding the multitudes with one fish dinner and of course the resurrection of Jesus could not possibly be true. They have said the Bible is completely unreliable, either as a historical record or a theological revelation.

But does the evidence come down on their side or the Bible's side. The archeologists, anthropologists, linguists, and other modern day cultural scientists have unearthed amazing relics that portray an entirely different picture.

Moses didn't write the first 5 books of the Bible because there was no writing in those days. However, first Egyptology, then Assyriology, showed that the art of writing in the ancient East was of vast antiquity, and that the w great powers which divided the civilized world between them were each emphatically a nation of scribes and readers centuries before Abraham was born. Egypt and Babylonia were full of schools and libraries.

Critics had great fun mocking the story of Jonah and Ninevah. Historians had never found Ninevah or any of its kings. Ninevah and Assyria was in the Bible, all intelligent people knew that they could be nothing but myths and legends.

Until an Englishman named Henry Crewsicke Rawlison had the audacity to dig up nearly the entire city of Ninevah.

Many reject Christianity for what they believe to be intellectual reasons. In their own minds they feel they have an intellectual problem with the gospel. However, Jesus assures us that the truth is far simpler. In one of the most profound declarations of the Bible, Jesus gives us the real reason why people refuse to believe in Him:
"And this is the condemnation, that light has
come into the world, and men loved
darkness rather than light because their deeds were
evil. For everyone that does evil hates
the light, and does not come to the light
lest his deeds should be exposed. (John 3:19,20)

Jesus assures us that the real reason people don't immediately come to Him is because they are still clinging to their lives of sin and selfishness. While they may even claim to be looking for truth, they are, in fact, running away from it. The last thing in the world that they want is for the Bible to be right after all.

God will judge these people because God is the Judge of all mankind. I am to give them the Word of God and what God says. I am to use the Word of God the Holy Bible for reproof and rebuke.
2 Timothy 3:16 KJV
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Ephesians 5:11KJV
"and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove (expose) them."

It is doing more harm than good not to tell them the error of their ways. I would prefer not to say anything and wait quietly on the Lord to take me to heaven, but Jesus didn't say to do that. Jesus said, "go into all the world and preach the gospel." The gospel is the Word of God, the Holy Bible and all that is in it.

Just one example: Romans 14 tells us not to judge others, that it's God's place, and God's alone.

As to why there is so much judgment: The fact that someone claims to be a Christian doesn't mean that person actually follows the example and teachings of Christ. And yes, those people do a lot more harm than good.

I hope I've actually answered your questions, and not answered with a question. Lord knows I'm not all-knowing.

Matthew 7:1 - "Judge not, that you be not judged."
This is a part of the Sermon on the Mount, a section frequently quoted but rarely followed. These people you talk about are simply ignoring this, or just aren't paying attention to the fact that they are judging others. After all, they are human too and so cannot be expected to be perfect. Most of us would answer with a question because we wouldn't know what to do if we were wrong, and so just avoid the question.

Great question. I have asnwered several of these kind s of questions recently. Most Christians are taught that their one religion is the only right true religion and that everyone else is wrong. That's why you cannot debate with them because they will become very rude and closed minded. The very thought that there could be something else out there scares them, and they do not know how to respond.

It's definitly an oxymoron to say that Jesus said Love your neighbor, but then when you say something to them they don't like, they become very rude and yell at you and say you're going to hell for that belief. How is that loving your neighbor? Jesus didn't say love your neighbor only if he believes the same thing you do. Look at his life, he was followed by the most sinful of people (tax collectors, prostitutes, etc...). Only God can judge, that is true. Jesus said Judge not lest you be judged.

I'm probably going to receive a lot of thumbs down for that answer, but that's the way it is.

You want to know something else? People don't realize most world religions are very similar. Every world religion believes Jesus was a very important religious figure, even the Muslims. Every religion has some basis in history, has a book to follow written by their prophet or God (a bible if you will), and moral guidelines or a code of ethics (the ten commandments if you will). Every world religion religion believes in some form of prayer and worship, has community worship, and a hierarchy that runs the day to day operations of the faith. It's only when you get down to how they worship and the belief system that makes the religions different (worshipping gods instead of one God, believeing in the sacraments of holy eucharist as opposed to prayer and meditation only, the saints, veneration, etc...

What I am saying here is that on the most basic level most religions are the same, or at least very similar. People don't realize this because they don't want to. They are comfortable in the knowledge that they are right and everyone else is wrong. This I think this is very arrogant. With all the proof out there that Muhamed (Islams great prophet) existed in history, that Buddha existed in history and was an actual person, I don't see how one can deny the fact that there might not be one true religion, but that all religions are extensions of the same idea. Treat others as you would have them treated, love your neighbor as yourself. These sayings are in every scripture in every bible or spiritual book in every world religion.

Hope this helps.

it talk about in the bible how you judge you Will be judged

some times opinions can be ether misunderstood as a judgement. or the lack of the ability to have a conversation with a diverse group of people.

however that is true, with all sides some questions are not questions at all. they are statements or attacks at a specific beliefs. No thought there just insults by both Christians and the rest that visit this sight.

agree that it has the potential to more harm than good.
telling everybody they are condemned and going to hell
Will not bring anyone who doesn't already believe in Christ to him only those who already believes will that effect .

only for myself i will offer a opinion on my beliefs are never told anyone they where bound for hell or attack there beliefs.

it is the opposition that in my view test my faith, I welcome all questions and different opinions

Christian aren't perfect we fall under the same frustrations that everybody else do.
most of the people want to have a debate some want to argue. we have to sort though the ones that just want to pick a fight to get to the ones who want to have a debate

There are various verses that address judging other people. We are actually instructed to address the faults of our brothers but not until we have first looked to ourselves to see that we are not also at fault and perhaps even more so.
Even when instructed to judge for others we are instructed to do it in loving kindness as the same measure will be used upon us.
Debating topics is useful as long as it is done properly and with an honest exchange of ideas without hostility toward the other or as you have correctly indicated, the desired result will not be a new person led to Christ.
Please continue to question in kindness and realize that by the "fruit" of the response you will be able to determine those who are truly followers of Christ from those who merely profess to be.

Hope that helps.

Vanity for they think they're saved, this way they still cansin without notice from their inner eye.
They keep looking for your sins well covering up there own sins.
They think they are better than you because you are a sinner they have power over you ;because they are saints .
Remember when they lose an agruement with you, they curse you. Their leader curse you the most. They are trying to bring you under the curse of God,which they have fallen under.
Really see how they come out in anger and where did they love of God go.
However, YHWH children know you also are a children of God.

The job of Christian real ones is to be Witinesses not Judges.
Only the Tribe of Dan is to be a judge in the last days. However, most of their false christ do not even know this.

They need to own you to control you to have pwoer over you.
However, the children of YHWH (Israel) wait like you for The Lord Jesus Christ to renew the promise of the New Covenant. Which is now starting happen the pouring of the Spirit. Which is the Spirit of God meaning Truth of the Spirit,God's Word ,Our Lord the Messiah of David.
These False christian our really worried now and are trying to trap as many as God's children as they can. With gasping of teeth and cursing.

Yes, there are many quotes, the first to come to mind are Judge not lest ye be judged.
and Romans
Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2 And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. 3 But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, 6 who WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: 7 to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; 8 but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. 9 There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace to everyone who does good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 11 For there is no partiality with God.
And Jesus said not to worry about the speck in your brothers eye, when you have a beam (big log) in your own.

I have never said anything against anyone here. I have said SOME atheists have said horrible things to me. I posted them once and got a violation. so I won't do that again. but trust me ..they were mean. I have only said that I have great respect for most Pagans, I have some very dear Wiccan friends. I have seen some very rotten things said about Muslims and Jews. I have seen terrible racial slurs. I just wish we could use this forum to learn from each other ..about each other and stop the BASHING!
