I have US PS3 in Europe, I'm using a good (220V->110V, 50hz->60hz 500W) power converter. PS3 games are region free (all my PAL games run on it). European PS1/2 games and movies won't run on it. Also, make sure, that your TV supports NTSC signal.

Sorry, but the PS3 is NOT dual-voltage. You'd need to get a voltage converter for a PS3 made for the U.S. to work in Europe. You should also know that European TV systems operate on a different encoding system (PAL in Europe vs. NTSC for the U.S.) so a PS3 made for the U.S. may not work properly with any TV in Europe. Now, if you buy a PS3 here and take the PS3 and an American TV with you to Europe, all you'd need is the voltage converters and your PS3 will work just fine. But I would get a model made for Europe if I were going to live in Europe, unless I was a military brat -- in which case I'd buy the U.S. version, use it on an American TV, and buy the voltage converters.

Actually, the PS3 IS dual voltage - if you check out the FCC label on the back, it clearly states 120v -240v. I am not 100% sure if the 80GB is, but the 60GB version 100% is. The PS3 is also region free for PS3 games.
i.e a US purchased game will work in a UK purchased machine.
