The Bible says not to!

Wait until your heaviest days pass, cover the surface where you're having sex with a towel and keep wet wipes within reach for a quick cleanup. When you're ready to do the deed, stick to man-on-top mode because when you're lying down, your menstrual secretions will likely be lighter than when you're upright. If you want to experiment with different positions but don't want to deal with the mess, insert a cervical cap, diaphragm or menstrual cup (an alternative to tampons and pads -- not a method of contraception -- that can be purchased at a local or online drug store) before you get busy.
Just remember, not only is it possible to get pregnant when you have your period, but since the opening of your cervix widens -- to let the unneeded buildup of the uterine lining leave your body -- you can be at increased risk for pelvic infections and HIV. So, unless you and your partner are STD-free, use condoms

This answer has benefits and downfalls. As stated above you should be healthy enough for sexual intercourse not only on your period but in general.
For some women they are more sensitive during this time and it is easier to have an orgasm.
The down side to all this is that it is messy. You will want to lay a towel under where every you are having intercourse not to stain the sheets/carpet/kitchen table/couch
Ect. ect.
The shower is the ideal spot for this.

yes you can. but its bloody and messy. i'd also use a condom because even if its unlikely you can still get pregnant during your period.

Dr Errol Daley, gynaecologist at Gynae Associates believes that there is nothing wrong with a couple who engages in intercourse while the woman is menstruating. Jokingly, he told all woman of an allusion to the story of Moses that might explain the issue a little better. "If the Red Sea assails thee, stretch for thy rod, lash both sides and press on," he said.
He added that a great majority of women, although they find it aesthetically displeasing, are more inclined to have sex during their period, as it is around this time that they are most aroused. "The reason for that may be hormonal/ psychological," he said. And gynaecologist Dr Monique Rainford agrees with her colleague and added an advantage: "If a woman has an orgasm during her menses it can relieve cramps and other menstrual pains," she said.

You can, however, its not something that is accepted by everyone so you must consult this with your partner before hand. if you both dont have a problem with it then go for it, but if either of you is grossed out by it, then dont push it. Make sure you lay out towels if you decide to go through with it and the best place to do it would be in the shower. This may sound gross but many women actually experience some of the greatest orgasms while menstrating

yea you can have sex on your period. but you should wait until aren't bleeding alot. basically wait till the last two days of your period. also use a condom. and make sure you do it in the shower it's less messy.. also if you do do it in the beginning of your period it will ease your cramping but it will come down really badly and it will feel disgusting. well now it is up to you weather you want to do it or don't want to do it.. unless you alredy did it..

you can, it's messy and smelly but there's nothing wrong with it if the guys ok with it, the shower is the best place for it durring your period or take a few shot of alchol or take a hot bath first, both of this help slow down the blood flow, personally if i take a bath durring my period the blood will stop for about an hour or so....sorry I know that may be a little to graphic but you asked.

the bible says no to sex during a woman's period. it is the cleansing of our body. yes we are aroused during our period, but we also feel crampy and tired too. i would not have sex during my period. too much blood. i feel tired, sleepy, depressed, breasts are sore, all types of stuff. so not for me. but if you do, you should have it on the last couple of days, light days, not the heavy days. also put towels down, or rags, or something. have the woman sit up right. i think if your going to have sex during a woman's period it should be in her anus, and not in her vagina. or it should be oral without the mouth on the vagina. the shower does make the blood stop, and drip down less. so that place would be ideal. i wouldn't recommend it. periods aren't too long wait it out. i don't see why some women and men are persistent. its just a few days. also tampons have dioxin in them. you shouldn't insert them into your vaginas. they have bleach in them, and they are put into your vagina. its better to use pads.

Is it Safe To Have Sex During Your Period?
Many men and women worry that having sexual intercourse during a woman’s period is unhealthy. Though frowned upon in many cultures and faiths, sexual intercourse during menstruation is entirely normal and completely healthy.

Worries about this act generally stem from societal misconceptions about menstrual blood: most girls are taught from a young age that their menstrual blood is unclean and "dirty," and therefore should be hidden and contained at all times. However, menstrual blood is an entirely natural bodily fluid, and does not in anyway affect a man’s penis or a woman’s reproductive tract. As long as you are engaging in safe and protected sexual intercourse, it is entirely alright for you and your partner to have sex during your period.

Yes, it's just very messy. Oral is a good alternative or try having sex in the shower; no clean up to worry about.
