The Holy Spirit is not missing in your life.
He was active in your life before you knew Christ, and now dwells within you. If you have felt God's love in your life, you have felt the Spirit. He is now active in your life, teaching and guiding you in your relationships with God and other people. When you accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you were sealed by God with Him, and through Him you are recognized as a child of God and have become one with HIm.
As for meeting other Christians, There are online sites and places where they gather and meet where you live. Visit a local church and find out about their activities involving others your age. Churches are great places for fellowship, learning and worship. Find one that you feel comfortable with. Pray and follow where the Spirit leads you. God bless and have a wonderful day.
Addition:
After reading some of your questions, it would probably be a good thing for you to tell a church in your area about your situation there in NYC. They may be of help finding 3 hots and a cot for you. The YMCA and the Salvation Army may be helpful too. I hope and pray all goes well for you, and that you will have a Merry Christmas and a better New Year.
