Do you know what is really interesting about the Resurrection story in the gospels is that there is very little holy spin so to speak.
"After the Sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb." Matthew 28:1 . So women were the first people to come visit Jesus at his Tomb.
The Jesus said to them "Do not be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and that they will see me." Matthew 28: 10. Again the women were the first to see the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ.
Now think about this for a minute... Back in those days women were not regarded as reliable witnesses! Women were not believed. Yet Every Gospel writer in the Bible leaves the account of women or a woman being the first to see the ressurected Lord. Moreover the Woman/women are then commisioned to tell the twelve apostles. Hence, if Christian wrtiers back in the day wanted to authenticate the resurrection story they would have stated it was men who had first seen the resurrected Lord. Yet every single writer commented on the role of the woman /women being the first witnesses of the resurrected Lord.
The fact is this actually points to the proof of the ressurection. That in a heavily masculine dominated cultures that writers felt the necessity of writing the account of the women/woman being the first to witness the resurrected Lord and to proclaim this fact to the men is amazing and shows the authenticity and simplicity of the account!
Please read the similar account of Jesus appearing to the women first in the other Gospels written by men and telling them to proclaim to the Men of the ressurection of Jesus! If you were doing Chrisitan propoganda I repeat - this information you would keep quite - as in this cultural context the word of a man was held much higher in court and in society then a woman. Hence the fact it is recorded in all four gospels by all the male writers signifies this is the truth.
Account in Matthew 28 in full.
Account in Mark 16 in full.
Account in Luke 24 in full.
Account in John 20 in full.
The ressurection account is simple and their is often very little Holy spin in the sense of proving this and that using Old testament prophesies. It is as if Jesus Christ does not need anything or anybody to prove that he is God and conquer of both death and sin. In fact this is manifested by Jesus choosing Women to be his first witnesses as described previously.
"O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?" 1 Corinthians 15:55
God bless and God love you all!

not trying to be smart mouthed...it is true that without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, we might as well pack it up and move on...but Christ did rise...It is located in the book of Matthew, Chapter 28. If Christ did not rise, then Christianity has no foundation and would have perished many years ago.

I would disagree that the entire religion is based on the resurrection. It's actually a pretty small point that simply inferes that Jesus is a deity rather than an extraordinary prophet.

I agree. Most Christians are clueless of the Hebrew Scriptures. Writen by Jews, about Jews, and a Jewish Messiah coming to redeemed the lost sheep of Israel.
Jesus? His name was Yeshua.
You only have a 'hollywood' view of what Christians are. Christians are just like you except they know their self righteousness is of no value, where as you think your self righteousness is the center of the universe. Shalom.

1 Corinthians 15:17-20
And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
It's easy to point fingers. It's another to apply what you know to your own life rather than condemning others with the same knowledge.

First of all christianity is not a religion (man serching for God). When a person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and ask God to forgive him of his sins it become a relationship.

There is no proof that Jesus even lived, let alone rose from the dead. No work outside the Bible written at Jesus' time mentions him, save the writings of Josephus which have been known for some time to have been forged.
Circumstantial evidence supports the existence of Jesus (namely, the rise of Christianity), and I do believe he did exist. But evidence for it, there is no.

Jesus got up after being dead two or three days, and started walking around like nothing ever happened.
Then he rose into the sky and became a god.
These are the two basic stories.

A religion based on a man rising from the dead is flimsy indeed. It will fall the same as the religion of Apollo.
