Are we at war for:
control of oil
control of the land in the middle east
money (haha)
political power
or is it a fake war, where real fighting and real terrorist (but who were the terrorists) are used to scare the american people (and others) into begging for a war, (with this theory another terrorist attack would have to happen soon) and then soon, when the idea is proposed, begging for a central government to stop the fighting (or that could happen now) that central government would be the UN and slowly the United States would dissapear.
Just a theory, play around with it and tell me what you think.
:)

No one answers in the politics section, at least not the way they do in this section.
My question is, are we really working towards staying free?

It's called selective media, who ever controlls the media, controlls what the mass population wants, and (as others have told me many times) majority rules.
Theoretically whoever has control of the press can make anything happen, start wars, end them, scare people, even cause people to BEG for an end in democracy.
That is was I fear.

Accourding to some, and I don't know if I believe this or not, 9/11's crash and burn, looked exactly like models that were demolished - this is leading to the thought that it was a set up, possibly by the government.
Again, someone else said it, I'm just quoting them, tell me what you think.

yes yes, I would like to point out that I respect and thank anyone who is serving, has served, or has lost their life or a loved one fighting, in any war, including this one.
God bless all of them.

When there are people who are so depraved that they thought it was okay to invade another country, and kill and maim countless thousands (more likely millions) of living beings, because they thought it would lower the price of gasoline, I guess you can come up with pretty much any reason you want and people will kill for it. It makes me ashamed that I'm of the same species as such people.
I wonder how much money this invasion and occupation adds to the price of a gallon of gas (hidden in the form of taxes and national debt). So much for "lower" prices. And, how about the price in blood, on both sides? I want to vomit.

All of the above, plus even more: the twisted political-religious ideology of power madness. Sad as it is, the path we are on is truly self-destructive, and, insane. This war and terrorist threat administration are rooted many decades, nearly a century back, in dirty money deals at highest level government, who rationalize wholeheartedly they are acting out a god-given righteousness to direct the course of global socialization. Its our own greed that feeds the demon that creates the insanity that has allowed such evil rulers and secrecy to develop so far. In some ways, its still Greece. Its never too late for change!

Money. Not for you though. A select few companies that are paid exorbitant rates for their services or at times nothing at all. We spent Trillions of tax dollars on a war that has done nothing but destabilize the area and drive up the price of oil costing us trillions more in gas prices.
9/11 has nothing to do with Iraq other than we were able to use the fear from it to justify invading Iraq.
Big business owns the media. They are making money, and if you invested right at the beginning of the war you are doing well.

Bush is the scapegoat for causing the war even though it was going to happen anyway..... I try to look past the political points and reasons because That central Government you talk about is the New World Order that is more important to focus on (which hasnt happened yet of course) But, not the reason Bush invaded the entire middleeast that's done and over and God Bless all the soldiers and Innocent Lives lost over their

it's a self sustianing war
use tanks and choppers, and never run out of the oil to fuel your tanks and choppers since it's in the land of oil
no need to spend money shipping oil in, you've got your fuel for war in front of you

I don't know anymore the reasons keep changing every other day. First for freedom. Then it was because or terrorism which was proven to have not been there until after we went there. And now is it to control the terrorist that weren't there until we got there.

I was glad we were going to war at first, since I thought that we would get more oil and thus lower gas prices. This was back when gas was around $1.80 or more. I can't believe how wrong my thinking was now that I look back and see how it didn't have any positive effect on lowering gasoline prices.
