Why do some people reply to a conspiracy theory question and say conspiracy theories waste time.?

It's not a belief, it's an evaluation of the facts and the creditability of the sources.

Often these questions are posted like this "What do you think about....". If you only wish to have people respond that share your point of view, don't ask the question on a public forum, as anyone can and will respond.
