Some people sometimes believe very strongly in their opinions to the point were they think that theirs is the only correct one. Religious and atheist people alike. But what everyone doesn't understand is that variety is the spice of life. Everyone should be allowed to believe in whatever they want and allow those who believe in something else.

You know I've seen the same question asked by atheists. Theists tend to answer that if you don't like the question, ignore it.

I take to task more atheists than I do theists and I'm harder on them than theists because I fully believe everyone should sweep their own porch first.

Tell you what? When I see you challenging wingnuts like scottythecomic & fireball I'll believe you're sincere.

It's an open forum and when you throw a question to the entire world you will get answers that span the entire spectrum.

You came here of your own free will and asked a judgmental accusatory pseudo-question and you got from some people pretty much what anyone should have expected. In spite of your attitude I answered you honestly and politely. I also treated you like an adult assuming you weren't so delicate you couldn't handle opinions and ideas that were different than your own. Clearly I overestimated you.

Obviously you can't handle a marketplace of ideas. My suggestion stay in areas more suited to you until you can handle a larger world where not everyone thinks like you.

You can choose to believe in what ever you want, just like others can. Have strength in your convictions and stick by them, the world is full of difference.

We just have to always honour what we believe in and stick by our opinions and beliefs. I'd say I'm more of an Agnostic personally but I don't believe that 'so and so is wrong' and 'so and so is right' because I know that what ever anyone says or what I say, you can't change what people think, only they themselves can.

Meaning no one can change what YOU think :)

So I wouldn't worry, let people get on with what they think and just stand by your own feelings. They're what are really important because you're the person living your life :)

Please spend a little time on here. I am a Christian and I have a number of non-Christian friends here who are absolutely brilliant. Take the time to read and study some of the answers that are given by different people and you will find that many people are just like you and I are. They are here for fun and debates. Pangel says it best and she is a wonderful person for you to get to know. I suggest that you trot thru my answers and questions and see what you find. Many will give YOU the same respect that YOU give THEM! Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds

there are plenty of rude mean spirited christians and others out there as well.....as there are plenty of sweet, thoughtful christians and nonchristians out there too. This is not a christian chat room where only christians are allowed (or any faith), so if you don't want to hear from them you can simply ignore them or report them if they are especially mean spirited. It is a question/answer forum.....as long as there are people asking questions about faith, the nature of god, our purpose, and how we came to be, etc. there will be all sorts of people answering with their own ideas.....if everyone always answered exactly as we wanted them to...we wouldn't be learning much at all!! good luck!

that statement is quite untrue. Most atheists dont have problems with pagans, Buddhists and several other religions. What they have problems with tend to be Christian and Muslim religions, thats really about it, mainly because Christianity and Islam are the 2 most vile and evil religions on the face of the earth. They are also the religions that work so hard to convert others, kill non believers, and have major superiority complexes. Most other religions are peaceful and less oppressive.

Just take a look at the way the like of Hucklybee and Bush, Pat Robertson and Oral Roberts want to impose the Xian mythology on the rest of us. Think about that and how bitter we should really be instead of just having some fun on Y/A.

In the world today, any debate, especially when one side is blatantly correct, is taken as negative. This is seen in even greater degree here, since the majority here are from Abrahamic traditions, and believing in those traditions requires some form of intellectual failure.

Well i wouldnt say the majority are rude. Just speaking their mind. They do believe there is no god so they are entitled to say so.

However, like all stances, even they have some who take it under their wing to go ott. Pagans have their fair share as do christians, islamic etc etc.

some people are lost and desperately seek some sort of guidance, so they turn to religion. atheists and agnostics, i believe are people who don't need that type of structure to make sense of life. they might feel trapped with that whole God looking over you thing. some of us seem bitter or angry because we are constantly told we are wrong about it all and religion is attempted to be force fed to us. i personally don't care for religion but believe there is more to life than what we see or live. to be honest i believe we are closer to living the way God intended us to live that those of you who are religious because we don't exclude anyone because of their religion or sexual preference. well, i don't.
