Me and my husband want to walk in the evenings because we are not in any way shape or form morning people. Being that is dark much early now and we don't live n the greatest on neighborhoods what should we do?

Can you walk around your house compound or in your garden?

If that's not possible, invest in a treadmill, then you and your husband can take turn to walk/jog/run on it.

If you don't want to spend money on the treadmill, then I think the next best alternative is to buy a DVD/VCD (costs less than $15 per piece) on walking - I recommend Denise Austin's trim walk. She teaches you how to walk powerfully, using just a small corner in your house.

I've tried it; it's quite fun and I lose weight!

I have that problem and walk in the dark anyway. I try to stay on sidewalks near houses so I can scream if I have trouble. Carry a cell phone, a walking stick and stay in populated areas. It is really important to get exercise. You also might try walking at the big malls - well lit, safe, warm.

Agreed with Pam: A lot of malls open their doors for people who walk for exercise.

Good luck!

Yes it is dangerous, if you can afford to join a gym or a cheaper option is to buy a treadmill ..........great fun or exercise bicycle.
