Women are barred from participation as active combatants,
the exception being a pilot who seldom has to go face to face on the ground with an enemy.

i am a marine that has been deployed to combat a few times, yes women can go to war. no the are not allowed to be in the infantry, but in a war like todays, females are experiencing every bit of combat that men are. they fill the roles of supprt missions and find themselves out in the midst of things just as much as men
oooh rah

No female Marines are allowed to serve in infantry related MOSs. However, females have support jobs that quite often aid the infantry boys in their ability to do their job.

In a combat zone......EVERYONE is in danger.....especially in an Unconventional War
It does not matter if you are a supply clerk or a front line grunt......they ALL risk death......it is just a matter of degree
By law females are not allowed to serve in "combat arms" and are regulated to support roles.....it reduces their risk but not eliminate it.....
Many female Marines are currently serving with honor in Iraq and Afghanistan......they are at risk

First off you're going to have to define "go to war". Going to war is the same as being in a battle zone but not necessarily confronting the enemy... at least not in an aggressive posture. Women drive trucks and vehicles in convoys right now and that's technically in harms way... so yeah, I guess they do!
From my experience... 95% of them should be in the rear with the gear!

I think they can. There's a female pilot commander with the call sign "Baja". She made an interesting argument about women serving in the front line in a war:
"Yeah, I could get captured and raped but so could a man, and you're kidding yourself if you think it would be any worse for a woman"
I paraphrased, but those are some strong and true words.

they just cant be infantry or main MOS like Tankcrewman.
they can still be plenty off things and they do go to war and they do fight.
all marines are taught to us M16s and are issued them even woman!
