My aunt loves chanel perfume, which smells great and all, but she thinks it's cute to spray it on my 9-month old maltese puppy!
I haven't noticed any real problem with it, usually when she sprays it on her, she will sneeze for a minute and then be ok.
She says Chanel matches her because she is such a prissy dog
I'm worried that it could get her sick, and besides, I wash her regularly so she doesn't smell bad!

Perfume contains carcinogens. It is toxic to both humans and pets. You should tell your aunt that if she wants to put her health in jeopardy, that's her prerogative, but that you'd rather your puppy not be poisoned. Google toxic ingredients in perfume if you'd like more info.
BTW, your puppies’ sneezing is a sign of discomfort/allergy due to the perfume.

It is ok... Chanel is not an animal friendly company and it was sprayed and tested on countless dogs before it ever made it to the human market. BUT it sounds as if you do not like it and that makes it a problem. It is your dog after all and if it makes you uncomfortable then it doesn't need to be going on. Tell your Aunt to go and get a job at the mall where she can "snipe" her parfume at human targets and give your puppy a break. I am sure that you love your aunt and wont be that harsh... but make yourself heard.

Dog skin is very different from people skin. They get dried out easily and irritated easily.

Also you dont really know whats in the perfume, so her inhaling could be bad in the long run.

Your aunt can buy dog perfume if she really wants to spray the dog.

Why would someone wanna do that, perfumes are very irritating to dogs very sensitive noses. If the dog doesn't smell don't allow perfume to be sprayed on her, and if she does smell, you may just wanna give her a bath.

I don't think she'll get sick, but it may upset her nasal passages (hence the sneezing). If it gets in her eyes, it can cause some really painful problems. Tell Auntie not to spray her anymore. They make fragrances for dogs are not as strong as human perfumes.

It's not a good idea to spray perfume on your dog. Please tell your aunt that while you know she means well, to not do it any more - or you'll have to send her the vet bill for when your dear pup gets sick from licking perfume off her fur.

no way, its far too strong for a dog and could make it ill, your dog will be injesting it when she licks herself.
you can go to the groomers and get some pet spray, they smell quite nice, or a couple of drops of lavender down her back.........keeps the fleas away!!!
