he is a friend of mine. and i know how he is with girls.(goes for the younger ones to control them...) and he has been in situations like this that didnt turn out well for him. im just trying to see what someone else thinks

Age can be an important factor in dating. However, more important is the 2 individuals. It is possible that they connect in many ways. Being 26 doesn't imply any more maturity. And her being 18 doesn't imply any lack thereof. It really depends on them. No one should ever rush into a relationship, but neither should a relationship be criticized for something like this. I am generally attracted to girls younger than me as well, but date girls based on who they are, not their age. I would just let it be, unless there really is a problem between them.

If the reason he dates younger girls is because he is controlling, then that is bad. That has little to do with his age, though, and more to do with personality problems he needs to work on. He needs to overcome that and recognize that relationships are give / take. Maybe when he grows out of his need to control, he won't be interested in younger girls as much.

It is legal (which does not make it morally right). There is a formula for a sociably accept age gap... half of the oldest persons age plus 8. In this case he should only date girls 21 or older.
My ex bf is 52.. he is dating a 21 year old, who still lives at home!

Why???? Shes just a baby! The only reason a 26 yr old wants a girl that young is cause a woman his age won't put up with his ****!

so whats the point. i was talking to a 26 year old when i was 17 im 18 now. as long as she really cared about him and vise versa.thats all that matters

if they both are willing to work at it and respect each other, then i see no reason wrong with it. but i would tell the girl to watch herself bc you know how older guys are with younger chicks

doesnt matter,, hun i have seen worst i knw a 16 year old with a 38 year old now thats bad... hes only 8 yrs older.. thats fine.!
