Am I the only one who finds this type of idiocy to be indicative of a movement I would not wish to join even were one able to provide evidence of the existence of a "God"? Am I the only one who would rather potentially burn in Hell than wind up with this schmuck for a neighbor? Seriously.

without a doubt, the man is a schmuck, and i wouldnt want him as a neighbor either. his pompous 'knowledge' of the bible and christianity is sonething that a six year old would learn in sunday school. but his idiocy does not make the fact that there is a heaven any less true, it just makes it harder to believe. unfortunately

A righteous man dies and goes straight to heaven. St. Peter greets him at the pearly gates and begins to show him around. As they walk down the street they see a large house where well-dressed ladies and gentlemen are sipping chardonnay and nibbling on brie while a pianist plays. "What's going on there?" the man asks.

"That's where the Episcopalians live" responds St. Peter. "They're throwing a party."

After walking down the street a bit more they come to a house where a frat party is going on. Tequila flows like water and strippers are doing things that would make Hugh Hefner blush. "Hey, who lives here?" asked the man.

"They're Amish. They never had any fun on earth so they make up for it here" says Peter.

After walking a bit more a house starts to come into view. "Be quiet, hide in the bushes!" hisses Peter.

"Why? What's going on?" asked the man.

Peter whispers "See that house off in the distance? That's where the Catholics live and they think they're the only ones here!"

It is disturbing that the motivation for some people to folow Christ is to obtain a mansion. This seems rather selfish to me.

Our motivation for following Christ should not be what it will get me in the long run, but because we recognize what God has done for us and we are grateful. The motivation for loving our neighbor should not be the rewards we will receive when our life here is ended, but because we know that God is love and we want to bring God's Kingdom, a place of peace, mercy, justice and love to this world.

Whatever Heaven turns out to be will be fine because in Heaven, I will be with God and with others. That is all that really matters

Clearly, it is a joke. Humor is a rarity in R & S, but I would think that in this case it would be fairly obvious.

I hope you rethink that hell thing. But whether you do or do not,
God bless you.

Adoptive Father: Thumbs up on that joke! Thanks for the humor.

You're afraid of pictures of houses?

I just glanced at it, but from what I can see, this article isn't aimed at you (a non-believer). It's aimed at Christians. They're using pictures to make a point.

In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.

Nah - it's more funny....and it's funny how they're going to Heaven, but they're still looking for the biggest and best mansion in the place!

Heaven is going to be an awesome place! There are streets of gold and colors that you have NEVER seen before! God has a special place for you there and is waiting for the right time for you to come! There is a book out about a man who died and went to heaven for 20min and then came back to life. It is great!

Meh, just let it be noted that the irony here is in mentally turning spiritual benefit into material things.

well,,it's not my image of heaven,,,youeither 'make it',,or you dont'. to me,,heaven will be a place in which we will glorify God only and always. It will not be about 'our pleasure' but rather,,our pride of being God's chosen.
