I think he would be very disappointed. I don't think he wants division amongst his followers. I think he would also be disappointed in the pious, judgmental people that sit in the pews every Sunday. I definitely think that he would have some serious issues with the modern church. I am a Christian and I find myself ashamed at some of the things that I see.

If FoxNews announced that Jesus was back and walking the earth right now, in about 3 minutes you'd see a s**tload of back doors opening and porn magazines, girlfriends, gay lovers, bags of pot and bundles of cash - no scratch that, they'd try to explain the money - being rushed out of little churches, missions, monasteries, rectories and CBC offices
all over the western world.
If Jesus saw His 'followers' today (Benny Hinn, Pat Robertson, Oral Roberts, Earl Haggard, Roy Epps, George Bush, Karl Rove, etc.) He would sink to the ground and weep.
I left out Dick Cheney 'cause he's the Dark Lord's servant, nothing to do with Jesus there!

Surely you have to believe in jesus to even start answering this question. You have to accept the teaching of a historically incorrect book. The bible....If he did exist, and personally I dont believe he did. He would have disagreed with the authorities. Time and time again thousands of lives have been taken using the bible as an excuse. I dont think he would have agreed with that.

I dont know but I have the feeling that if he was as the gospels in the bible descibe him he would not recognise the roman catholic church as a christian church. He as of course Jewish so probably would not like any of the christian churches

He probably would quote Matthew chapter 23.Much in all of our churches He would not agree with.He might say to some pastors and Evangelists."I did not have a house to live in and I had very little clothing and they bought me for 30 silver coins and then they crucified me."
Check and compare.

i am sure there are a lot of churches he would be against, and the biggest reason is the sales that goes on in the churches, they do very well in covering it up by saying "its for the kids" still, i do believe Jesus would be against it.

If Jesus was alive right now he would say "I never intended this crap...I wanted people to try and be good....not make strict rules and end up just as bad as the phoney baloney priests of my day. People need to find God ON THEIR OWN...not form groups and practice a conquering attitude"

The legalism and judgement we place on one another....the lack of love....the early church was reknown for their love for one another...following man's laws and not His father's,....etc...
There would definitely be some reformation taking place....
However, when He does return (which He has promised He would) He will do none of the above things...Let's go back to what He said would be done in the bible...(the most historically preserved book in all of history)
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

If he was around today he would probably attract the same audience, and draw opposition from the same sources, as he did two thousand years ago.
Human nature hasn't changed during the interim.
