Blah...Blah...Blah...right I got it! They break down the American culture, our way of life, but be honest. Is it because they finacially do better than a lot of US citizens, with less opportunities. I graduated from the CSU system, and I can say most immigrants kicked *** in school, blew us "Americans" out of the water. Us Americans are looking for a "Great paying, good benifit job", but immigrants look for a great business oppurtunity, and in most cases businesses make more money than an employee. In turn they are able to buy homes faster, and obtain more things. To be honest when I go to the nice area where homes are a million+ most people I see are immigrants, or newly US citizens with an immigrant background.
So, are we jealous of their prosperity, and turn to anti-immigrant rage to vent?

According to cmdrbnd007 you need to be a US citizen to use social services. Sounds like anti-immigrant...(and without the illegal)!

There's more than one kind of immigrant out there. There are, indeed, legal immigrants who come from cultures that value education, and/or come here with big dreams and ambitions and make real contirbutions to society.
Those immigrants aren't just welcomed, they're vital to the continued success of our nation. (Because, let's face it, the last few generations of Americans have not been that stellar: counter culture hippies, selfish yuppies, underachieving slackers & yippies).
Then, there are immigrants who come over legally as 'visitors,' overstay thier visas, and do everything from 'stealing' jobs to flying planes into buildings. Not so welcome, that sort.
And, of course, there are the vast masses of aliens entering and living in America illegally, with the tacit aproval of the government and encouragement of the dishonest employers who exploit them. Many come to work, most simply being exploited, but some in 'proffessions' that are criminal by thier very nature (drugs, gangs, organized crime in general) - others just sponge of the system once they have an American kid or two. More colonist or invader than 'immigrant,' they certainly aren't welcome.

Really it's been said before. Hardly anyone is anti immigrant. They are against illegal immigration. Big difference. Pretty much all countries have immigration laws that are as strict or stricter than the US laws. Heck Mexico is much stricter on immigration. You can't just let the entire population of a poorer country flood into your country with out causing some problems. I am so tired of people twisting this issue from illegal to just immigration. The people you mention as doing so well are here legally. Big difference. The illegals are driving down the wages. They don't do the jobs others won't do but they do them for a wage others won't do them for. Only business profits from this. I'd be happy to dig a ditch, wash dishes, or any manual labor but not for no benefits and 5 bucks an hour. If companies did not have the choice to hire illegals they would pay more and have no problem finding legal citizens to do the jobs.

I doubt people dislike immigrants. There are plenty of reasons to detest illegal immigration besides hate. There are a few racists and xenophobes out there, but they don't make up the majority.
My concern is for the environment and the future generations of America. We are not a country of unlimited money or resources. We are not a neverending stretch of land that can support any number of people imaginable. Each new person here is a strain on the environment. It's an added burden on air and water pollution. We need more homes, streets, schools, hospitals, etc. to sustain the growing population and it results in more trash in our landfills, more polluting cars on the street.
America is a great country, but it wont stay that way for long if we let unlimited amounts of people just waltz in. Do you have children? Did you know our population is growing at such a rapid rate that we cannot build enough schools(as well as hospitals) to keep up? Don't you worry about the education of children? Or healthcare? What about what their life will be like when they are grown up? A country with overpopulated 3rd world conditions fighting over resources is hardly an ideal place to live. Let's keep America great. Let's have controlled immigration as the only type of immigration.
I am not jealous of anyones prosperity. That is what America is about. We're a land of oppurtunity and prosperity. Like I said, let's keep it that way.

The one thing I don't like about the way our goverment helps immigrants is the 7 year tax exemption. I have met too many people from over seas that own stores that come here make money and switch out with a cousin, or brother from over seas. This way, they never pay taxes. As far as my feeling towards immigrants,
1. Learn English
2. If you don't like the U.S., leave and go back to where you came from.
3. Mexican American's that protested, Show some respect for our nation. Your family came here for a reason. Refer back to #2.
4. For every immigrant you can name that "kicked @$$" in school, I can find 100 that didn't
5. Illegal immigrants- get out. I'm tired of paying you medical expenses and schooling costs, and jail costs.
6. Jails in California are no less than 20% illegals. Are they productive members of societ?
American culture was founded on Immigrants. Our own government passed a law years ago granting immigrants 7 years tax exemption when we were trying to get more people to come here. They also used to give land away too, but you don't see that anymore. These laws should be changed accordingly.

Ok Ok OK ! You made your point to bad it has no basis in actual fact ! If there is any resentment it is because they refuse to assimilate and become American but hate ? no ! You have a bad source that is to say that you have a source at all. To bad that CSU education didn't get you more than just a piece of paper. Because this one came out of left field. Probably stemming from an isolated incident overblown by the powers of multiculturalism. The truth is that most legitimate immigrants do well because they have seen poverty and refuse to immigrate to another poverty stricken situation. Can I call you chicken little ? Yeah you are just another racial chicken little ! Running around trying to convince everyone that we have deep seeded hate for other people that we don't even know about. Well I'm calling your question absolute BS ! Just another question to generate hate for America ! Right !

Very few people are anti-immigrant. Most people are anti-ILLEGAL immigrant.
The rest of your rant is based on lies.
"According to cmdrbnd007 you need to be a US citizen to use social services. Sounds like anti-immigrant...(and without the illegal)!" - Not sure how that is anti-immigrant. Immigration is not a social services program. if an immigrant is no longer able to meet the conditions of immigration, they should go home and use their home system of social services. Once they become citizens they become eligible for all social services. This is the way it should be. Keeps people from coming here for the purpose of getting on welfare.

Yep, I agree it's the ILLEGALS. I have no beef with immigrants, we all come from immigrants at some point in our ancestry.
We have tons of illegals here and they rent nice but older houses then move all their friends and families into them, they all live there just long enough to run the house and area down then move to a different area and do the same.
I thought you were on a different planet or something the way you were talking about them owning million dollar houses.
They have no clue how to drive because they don't care, I mean after all it's not their country, why should they care? They can come over here and dirty up then move back home.
The emergency rooms here are always full of illegals and the hospitals have to treat them knowing they will never pay for their treatment. So the hospitals increase their rates and who pays for that? We do.
They expect us to change our language because they can't or don't care to learn ours.
The list just goes on and on.
I got this email the other day and it explains it to a T
I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food.
But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table ... everywhere!
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket.
And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food.
After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio.
Soon, the back yard was like it used to be ... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let's see ....
Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen.
Then the illegals came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English.
Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to "press one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties.
Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder.

We are against ILLEGAL immigrants!!!!!
Maybe some illegals do better financially because they don't pay state, federal and property taxes; nor do they pay into Social Security. Also you know that illegals don't pay for their health care!
Some immigrants are smarter than Americans, I'll admit that. But they had education in their countries. Not EVERY ILLEGAL is smarter than Americans. What schooling did they get??? NONE!!

As normal because people do not agree with you, you fail to hear what they are saying. I have yet to meet anyone that is "anti immigrant". Most of us are however anti illegal and anti non assimilating immigrants. Listen to what people are saying to you and you will see that many of the people you think are idiots are much smarter than you thought and many that you thought were smart will soon be shown to not really be saying anything.

You are confusing "anti-immigrant" with anti-illegal. Most of us have no problem with immigrants. Personally, I love talking with people from other countries and learning about the life they left behind however, I can't stand illegals. I find myself wanting to personally deport every single one of them back to the hell they left.
