If I could take pride in christianity, I might give 'er a whirl, but I take pride in other things, such as my knowledge and ability to refute obvious fairy tales that are considered reality.

I'm very proud to be a Christian! I'd say it to the world if I could, and for the humility part, I agree with the first answer. God bless,

How can you have pride in something you haven't done?
I didn't do anything except accept Christ.
I'm proud that I HAVE Christ, and that my religion (despite whatever any one else thinks) is solid. I'm proud I'm in a "religion" that, when I do something horrible, I'm still welcomed back with open arms.
Humility is a hard thing to have..
Its hard to humble yourself, even after you know what Christ has done for you, when, naturally, you are proud as thats just human nature.
Just because were supposed to be a certain way, doesn't mean we aren't human, and that we actually are what were supposed to be.
Again, were just people, who have put their lives, and faith all in God, regardless of never being able to see him, or feel him, or anything like that.
I know hes real, theres no way I could have made it in life without him.
Even when I never had him, he still had me.
=)
So, I'm proud I have God in my life, I'm proud of Christ, I'm proud in a way that I accepted Christ so I can be where I am today.
I'm proud that I can worship whenever I want without being killed, and I'm proud that I am where I am.
I'm proud of how my life is, but I'm not proud of my life.
Make sense?
To sum it all up, I cant actually say that I'm not prideful, I am in some parts of my life, but, in my Christian life, I couldn't possibly be proud of myself.
I've done nothing.
I hope that all made sense, lol...

A good answer was given earlier: you take pride in an accomplishment you didn't do anything to deserve being a Christian because that is a gift how do you take pride that someone gives you a gift?
prideful is the opposite of humility and being humble... those are some of the qualities of Christ He was never prideful

Humility is the virtue which acknowledges that all we have and all we accomplish is God's work not ours.
The opposite of humility is the sin of pride. Pride in yourself is undue self-esteem or self-love, which seeks attention and honor and sets oneself in competition with God.
Pride in things like your religion, your heritage, your nation, and your children are just being thankful for gifts from God. These are not the sin of pride.
With love in Christ.

Pride comes before a fall. God abhors pride. Being a Christian is a life-style based on a relationship with Jesus Christ and His Father and The Holy Spirit. In some regions of the world, being a Christian is still a death sentence. I wouldn't call it pride. No pun intended, but if you are going to be a Christian, you need to be committed.

Being a Christian, Muslim or Jew is like being in a club as they are all Made up with their own rules and traditions, just like in a club, and if humility is part of the member ship then I guess people in any club try to abide by the rules, but as we are human we always break the rules, when it is convenient for us. we are selfish and for the most part quite stupid.and very weak. How many rules of any club ie religious rule book do we break each milli second of everyday.. now if we were only held responsible, then I might join one of those clubs. but like all clubs, there is the escape clause. called FREE WILL .. how convenient

God hates pride (Proverbs 8:13). The Bible tells us that, “pride brings destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly than to live it up among the rich and famous (Proverbs 16:18-19). The Message paraphrase of Proverbs 16:5 goes on to say that, “God cannot stomach arrogance or pretense.

A Christian is not something that someone IS.
Being a Christian is what someone does with their life, the work is NEVER finished. Doing the right things, and refusing to sin is obviously something that someone can have inner satisfaction about, but PRIDE itself is a sin.

I'd say that its something to be grateful for. Proud of? Interesting. Probably better would be "not ashamed of". Since Christ Himself accomplished the work of providing eternal salvation by His incarnation, life, Crucifixion, and resurrection, and our only response is to receive the salvation provided, the Christian doesn't "bring to the table" any work of which to BE proud. Its all Christ. So I'd say that in that regard, not, there is no basis for pride. All admiration should go to the One who has provided salvation.

Fascinating question!!! I'm a Christian.. and I'm not sure how to answer. The apostle Paul (who wrote lots of letters to new Churches which now appear in the New Testement) said that we "boast in Christ". So, the answer would be no - you can't be proud of being a Christian, because it's not yours to be proud of. Jesus has saved you, redeemed you and brought you into his family.
However, I am proud of Jesus Christ who began by faith and will be there at my end. And I'm certainly not ashamed - being humble isn't the same as being ashamed! I'll stand up and tell people about Jesus, because I'm proud of him, but I won't stand up and tell people about me, because there's nothing to be proud of in me that didn't come from Jesus!
1 Corinthians 10:15-18
But, "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord." For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends.
