Christ calls us to love everyone, including those who hate us.
I think though, you're talking about more than love -- you're talking about sex.
And the sex you're talking about has nothing to do with love. Sex isn't love. Lust isn't love.
When you get to the point that you're more than an animal, and able to love someone enough that you DON'T want sex from them, THEN you may be in a position to 'get it.'
Godspeed.

Christan's view sex and marriage as an expression of love, of self-giving, sacrifice, and procreation. All of these things mirror the love Christ has for his Church. Because Christ's love for us is monogamous, our love as an expression of God's love is also monogamous.
Even those who do not believe in God do not appreciate "sharing" their loved one with others. It seems to be innate in us. In the 60's it was popular to have "open marriages" or relationships. This allowed spouses to have sex with others while maintaining that they were truly committed to each other. Those marriages rarely worked!
There are many pure emotions that are not okay to express without control...anger, jealousy, hate...etc. We are not animals. We are above that. As Christians, we know we are made in the image of God and that our calling is to be holy. This is not easy, but rewarding. Most long lasting, monogamous relationships are good, strong ones. Having multiple partners has always proved to be stressful and hurtful to all involved.

Gee, this guy must be one of those Saudi Arabs who flogged that innocent girl.
I don't suppose you would accept your Jane to love another man and have you and him together and maybe Betty would like to love another man, do you get the picture?

Monogamy is a social norm in western cultures and was probably influenced both by the Church and economic factors. There is no real reason that a family could not consist of multiple husbands or wives, and in reality we find examples of both in various cultures.

Love is necessary to life and good for all living creatures.
I don't think the issue is with loving more than one person at a time so much as how you express that love.
A lot of people confuse lust with love.
And a lot of Christians have sexual hang-ups.

If you can`t commit to one person, How could you commit to one God. God says to love everyone. But that doesn`t mean you have sex with them.. It is unhealthy for one thing.. STD`s are rampant.. As well as abortions and perversions of all kinds..

Because humans are naturally jealous. As well, we no longer need multiple partners as the world is already over populated.

Love is fine...love is something you spread around.
Sexual relations is something completely different.
It is an error to confuse to two.
One sexual partner...infinite love.

Why not infinite partners? Why not herpes? Why not Aids? Why not Chlamydia, yeast infections, jealousies, lies, and all other entanglements? How's that?
