Depends what you mean by rapture. The word is not in the Bible. The idea of a rapture and a tribulation and all of that started in the late 1700s or early 1800s depending on which text does it for you though there are some earlier references to similar concepts. Yes, the Bible certainly says Christ will return and that biblical fact was used as the basis for the idea of the rapture as a means to "start the clock" until the second coming and the end of the current world instead of relying on all the prophetical sects that would come up with certain specific dates for Christ's second coming. As for a date, Matthew 24:36 says that the Father alone knows the date and time.

Only God knows forsure, we do that the Bible says as in the days of Noah so shall the coming of the Son of Man be, in the days of Noah Violence covered the whole earth, think about it. From our own domestic violence here which is rising to wars to rumors of wars there has never been a more violent time in the history of man. More Christians have been martyred in the last 100 years than in the last 1900 years combined. The Bibles says that when the Gospel is preached thru out the whole world then the end will come, well there is over 200 countries in the world today and the good news of Jesus Christ is in all of them. Obviously some have never heard of the name Jesus but most have, plus you have in the Book of Hebrews 10:16 where it says the Jesus wrote his laws in our hearts and minds so that we all would know him. The rapture could be at any moment, the time is at hand, Israel became a nation after 2500 years in the 1940's. According to the Bible the generation that sees that shallnot pass away until all things be fulfilled, Jesus is at the door, are you ready, Jesus says in John 3:3 that ye must be born again, if you are not and would like to talk about jesus just send me an email, He is coming soon!!!!!!!

The rapture is a concept made up in the mid-1800's by an evangelical pastor. It isn't in the Bible.

How can people cpabale of reading and writing actually believe they are going to fly up into the sky and meet Jesus in the clouds?
...and unless heaven is somewhere up in space, what would be the purpose of that? Is Jesus taking you on a tour of the solar system before poofing you over to fairy world, er, um, heaven?

Acts 1:7-9 (New International Version)
7He said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
9After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.

The point is to be ready. If you knew the hour the thief was coming you wouldn't be robbed.
When GOD returns everyone will know at the same time, EVERYONE!!
