I live in the US and need a passport and visa for india, how do I do this?

Go to website below for all passport info. You can print out the forms, fill them out, get your documents together , then go to the post office prepared and save a trip. Next, you need to read the section under "Entry requirements" at the second website. The next to last paragraph in this section contains links to the Indian Consulates in the United States. Click on the one closest to you , then click on "visa" in the list on the left, then follow directiions to apply for a visa.

After you have received your U.S. passport, then you should check the website of the Indian Embassy in Washington DC to find out about their visa requirements.
