Maybe.
I usually answer no. Some religions feel God is the god of man and I feel its more like God of Earth. I think its pretty obnoxious to think that the God that created all of the Earth and all of the life on it would save mankind from anything. Especially things that mankind does itself which harms the planet. Isnt it egotistical to think he would save us over everything else?
But a runaway AI? Hmmm depends on the AI. If it was told to protect all life, and decided that the most good to the most life would be to remove man? Maybe God would thumbs-up.

If he hasn't bothered to get involved with all the other atrocities that have befallen mankind (both through natural causes, and manmade ones) then I don't think he's going to get involved if the matrix ends up enslaving mankind.
That is assuming he isn't just the obvious result of people with overactive imaginations and a lack of logical mental processes.

Either God couldn't do it because he doesn't exist or God wouldn;t think enough of us to help us smite the AI.

No he would give it free will, and then watched as it argued with itself over his will, eventually causing war and destruction that would stop it from progressing.

Most likely not. I would suspect that it would be a mess we made. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that we should have to clean it up.
